Also on display was the
TVS Tormax
- Available in the Indonesian market (No plans for the Indian market at the moment)
- Features TVS's patented Turbotune Technology.
- Liquid-cooled 150cc engine has 3 valves : one for exhaust and 2 for intake.
- Powered by a 150cc liquid cooled turbo engine.
- Also sports a mono-suspension.
New TVS Automatic Transmission - New Automatic Engine based on the Jive gearbox.
- The ECU detects the need to change gears by analysing the RPM and load (throttle position).
- It then sends a signal to a solenoid which is directly connected to the gear shifting drum. It is essentially a normal gearbox from the inside, but instead of the human leg engaging a lever to change gears, a solenoid rotates the shifter drum.
- TVS has applied for patents for this innovation, but they are still under review.
- This new technology which employs AT in place of conventional CVT claims to improve fuel efficiency by almost 20%.
TVS Apache Series - Still one of the only bikes under the 1 lakh segment which provides a Roto Petal Disc Brake.
- The RTR ABS when launched, was a segment 1st feature which managed to get inside the market just before the "CBR 250R C-ABS".
- The zig-zag sticker job on the Apache RTR Hyper Edge also distinguishes it from its bigger sibling - Apache RTR 180 / 180 ABS.
Apache RTR 160 Hyper Edge Apache RTR 180 ABS
There goes the rumored Apache 250. Is the 250fx being launched here or just one of those one-off bikes that TVS just displays and forgets (remember the 250cc B-king inspired naked of '04 Expo?) ??
I live in hosur - land of the TVS Factory. I saw a heavily camouflaged bike with a BIG scoop-skirt being tested around the town. Before I could take a pic - he vanished, never to be seen again. I will keep my eyes open!!
My apologies in advance if this question sounds stupid.
Isn't TVS an Indian company? Then how come TVS Tormax isavailable in Indonesia and not in India?
The Qube is quite an interestingly styled product, it certainly is a marked difference from the other options in the electric scooter market. Does anyone know what range TVS is claiming for the Qube?
Mods - Theres a picture of the RTR 180 in which it looks as though the model's dress has ridden up a bit. Could we replace this picture with an alternate one?
Just love the Qube and the Thormax models.
I don't understand why TVS isn't offering the Thormax model in India. It looks quite trendy and offers a good market for college crowd.
TVS Cube - The Prius of Scooters, any word on when they are planning to get it if at all they are planning to do so.
