Parrys - If you have retained the bearing (i.e. the ball set) then no need to replace. I erred on that part.

There's your answer. :D
Attaching a picture of the bill, just to highlight the rates.

Went for a ride yesterday. Mumbai to Daman and back.
High points:- Riding with the Dagrex exhaust without the DB killer is a ear numbing experience, but I am not complaining :D
- Earlier without the FFE, the bike touched 140 kph (~138 kph true speed). Now with the Dagrex, it touched 144 kph. (~142 kph true speed).
- We had a bunch of dukes in the group, all of them zoomed past me under 3 digit speeds, but the aerodynamic Yamaha moves ahead on straights.
PS: Dukes reach the revv limit at ~136 kph. - The most surprising fact for others, too hard to digest - my FE. Although I do not remember the exact figure, I did the entire trip in just 1 tank. When others had to re-fuel on the way back.
A picture clicked yesterday. Planning to get the FFE painted in matte black, not a fan of chrome.
Do not miss the Indian Tricolour.

Mate,
Must admire your ability to cope up with the sound. She is for sure quite loud. So you mean to say that the R15 is faster than Duke even in its stock avatar?
Good to know that buddie. How much petrol can you fill it on an empty tank?

Make no mistake, the R15 is not quicker than the D200 (from 0kph). But yes, on long straights, it does crawl ahead and keeps progressing.
I've really not had the tank empty till now. The max I filled up was ~9.8L, pretty sure there was more inside (12L quoted by Yamaha).
And about the sound, once you pull and stay steady - it is
reasonably muted, haha.
Fun is when you ride inside a tunnel, I will fall short of words to express that feeling.
Did you have to change the ECU /tweak it to compensate for lean AFR?

I share that feeling. My CBR with the LV GP Corsa is equally loud, if not more. That reverberating growl sure makes me smile inside my helmet. :)
But otherwise, nothing good to write home about, an FFE on a single cylinder sounds like a chainsaw.

Nope, no tweaking was required.
Running the Dagrex + Pipercross foam air-filter, running perfect.
Please post the model number of pipercross filter. How much does it cost?
Are you using the dirt retention additive ?
How often do we need to clean it?
Any pointers why you choose this over the stock replacement YA-1208 ?
(Sorry for the question overload :-) )

Did not remember the number, so googled.
This is it I paid Rs.1700/-
I am sure you can get a better rate. I wanted it real bad and it was 9pm, had a ride the next morning so did not bargain.

He did not provide any additive to be applied on the foam, i just use a little engine oil over it.

I clean it every 5000 kms, and that is more than enough. Even at 5k kms it is not that bad.
PS: My daily commute is on a well paved, minimum dust highway.

I owned an RTR 180 before, so the stock exhaust note of the Yamaha was too boring for my ears. So I got this to add some
music. I used a UNI pod filter earlier, which was eaten up by rats. Later, I got the Dagrex.

I once had a chance to use the P220 that a colleague of mine owned. It was pretty new and had clocked 7500 odd kms only. At one of the times a mechanic had asked me to replace the cone set, when I was stranded at a place due to its starting trouble
I am just posting a link, where I had taken the bike out. It was a bit horrible and I think Yamaha is far better. Though 16k is something I can't digest :Frustrati

The life of spare parts coming out of the Bajaj stable is low, compared to Yamaha. I owned a Avenger 200 and the quality never satisfied me.
Cone set replacement at 7500 kms is a little early though. I am sure it would have required a replacement beyond 10,000 kms though. Even KTM parts carry this characteristic, their parts also wear out quickly.
But then, I guess people don't mind paying small amounts repeatedly rather than paying a bill twice the amount just once.

These were old (also fake) figures, which Aims Yamaha quoted.

For me at that point of time, it was not about the money really but the reliability factory of bajaj:Frustrati I have mentioned some of the issues in that travelogue, but there were much more than that.
Relieved to know that you are not paying those (fake) figures mate ! :thumbs up
Cheers.
