Congrats mate, would envy your garage for sure. Have quite a good budding collection there. Have you tried to upgrade the 250 with the RZ 350 Cylinder Jugs? Think they might fit in?

Well I always had that in mind but getting a TZ just did not suit my scheme of things. However a RZ350 would interest me for sure. Would be keenly watching your space on the renovations.

Rather than R-1 suspension which i feel might be too heavy for the chassis do look out for other options. First of all think what would be your requirements
If you need a track bike then a stiffer setup; travelling would be a tad lighter set up which breathes more freely. Other options would be like the R-6; FZ-6 which i think are also quite easily available.

All the best mate, will read the conti thread for sure. Indian Muscle car...hopefully you are fitting in a 3 liter, V6 engine to make it dance?

Re: TwinHeads : My RD350 and TZR 250

If you are ever interested in selling that TZR, you have a buyer ready here. I am just salivating at the thought.

Have you come across other owners of TZRs in India? or of NSR 250r?

You are in a big queue mate . There are 2 TZR in Chennai including mine, one came for sale and sold back to its previous owner itself, it was in tbhp classifieds for sometime. In Bangalore there are 2 one in running condition and another in parts which is being restored.

NSR 250 i dint come across, but 1 150 was for sale in Chennai, check out some online classifieds.

TZR 250 1KT Upgrade

Its been quite sometime i owned the TZR and its time to upgrade it
  1. Suspension upgrade - Done (front is duke and rear is R6)
  2. Filters - K&N - Done
  3. Breaks - Rear Pending
  4. Meter upgrade to digital - Not started
  5. Tire upgrade - Not started
  6. Fairing change or naked style - yet to decide- Not started
  • Suspension change has indeed given a lot of comfort without disturbing its beautiful handling.
  • Font Break upgrade is all worth it, guess a back wheelie is easier now.
  • K&N changed the way of breathing all together and tempting me to pull much more harder, jetting is yet to be completed though.

I did there already reason for going with K&N is its breaths better and do collects dirt as well, but my usage is not so extensive though. I got a stunning deal which i was not resist, will see how it feels and then change to UNI's if required.

The RD-350! I rode it once and I believe this bike was the reason I fell in love with motorcycles

It may be too late by then! K&n's are known for letting in way more dirt(high micron particles) as compared to Foam filters.
Try sourcing the UNI's from the US. Not worth buying from here as its almost double the cost(yeah, yeah! customs and all that jazz)

I can see spacers being used to mount the front caliper. You would have to use longer mounting bolts in this case- Are they of good quality?

Cheers!

Yes what you say is true, but the simple fact is either its UNI or K&N or Stock as long as they are cleaned frequently nothing really matters and also its based on the usage(mine is minimal). I wanted try the K&N for sometime and then switch to UNI's or something else.

Yes these are very quality bolts thats been used, its not complete yet there are few fine tuning work pending for the setup.
