Recently i did an experiment on my vespa and it turned out to be great, let the pictures do the talking.

The whole paint work was DIY and used 6 cans of bosny flat black, one can of red and 4 cans of grey primer.

No one can believe its DIY. Paint job has come out top notch. what did the showroom guys have to say?

Thank you,it was gloss black initially the showroom guys thought it was a Vespa S.

Will post the pictures of the work with details soon.

Thanks&Regards

This was my 9th Service and the last from the dealer under warranty. I have just clocked 1400 km as I do not ride my Vespa much except on the weekends. So im not even sure what mileage it gives.

This servicing I was particularly impressed the treatment my Vespa was given with a new line of 3M products introduced by Vespa. These were :
1.Wet Sprayable Grease
2.Dry Silicone lube (for wiring)
3.Battery Terminal Coat
4.Choke and Carb Cleaner
5.Engine oil additive

My Vespa underwent an oil change and Spark plug replacement and the rest of the parts such as Air filter, Belt drive were in good condition and did not need a replacement.

After many days of modifications, i got fitted a Vespa Original Flyscreen to my LX125. As usual my trusted mechanics at Smart Vespa worked to customise this Flyscreen to my Wasp. The looks of my Vespa have changed completely now.

Can you tell me whether the windscreen is effective on highways? I do a lot of highway trips in my vespa and would love to have one if it's effective. :) and, to fit this, did they drill any holes on the handlebar?

I havent tried on the Highways yet, but it should be effective.
The installation process on this flyscreen on LX 125 is quite elaborate and quite painstaking. This flyscreen is meant to be fitted on Vespa S, where it fits like a glove.

Hi,

I plan to purchase a Vespa soon. I'm just in awe looking at your Vespa. It looks so different from other Vespa's, even ones of the same colour!

Wasn't even considering Yellow, but now have added one more to the pool of potential candidates :p

I would like to know where you got the italian flag sticker, the white walls and the costs please.

Thanks for your appreciation Omar.
Italian Flag sticker is handmade and can be done easily by any Vinyl artist.
White Walls cost about Rs.500 each (you will need 4 of them). They can be ordered by mailing to : dxmenezes@yahoo.co.uk
Good Luck and Happy Vespisti !!!

hillram, did you opt for on-road assistance? Is this available in Hyderabad?

I intend to buy VX model, the showroom I approached informed that on-road is not being offered currently in Hyderabad.

I did not opt for on-road assistance as this provision was recently introduced in Hyderabad.

Yesterday I received an invitation from local Vespa dealer on behalf of Vespa India, to come and participate in a survey as a pre launch for Vespa GTS 150 and 300. These are the upcoming 150cc and 300cc Vespa scooters which are being subjected to a Market survey by Vespa Inda to test their acceptance in India. Some 50 odd elite Vespa customers from Hyderabad were invited, out of which I was one of them :) !!!
I reached today to the venue a leading star hotel in Hyderabad, where the Vespa GTS 150 and 300 were displayed.
At first looks of GTS 150 blew my mind off...This was a beefed by Vespa with lovely curves, sturdy body, huge chassis and in bright red color.
GTS 300 was in grey with same body curves as its 150cc cousin with features like DRLs,ABS,Electric Boot opener, USB for phone charging and off all, 300cc Vespa CVT fuel injected engine.
The Marketing team subjected me to a deep dive questions after explaining the features and dliligently noted my responses and my intent to buy. I promised to buy atleast one of them when they hit the market..so much for my love for Vespa.
Then i was invited for a Test drive of both the machines and give my opinion and feedback. I was floored by the 300cc engine, it was simply flying like a rocket at the twist of the throttle.
Finally the Marketing Team approached me with the pricing that Vespa India was going to fix to these CKD imported Vespa Models. Thats where my jaw dropped and cold water poured on my heart. I gave the feedback that such high on the road price will deter away any buyers.
I was told that Vespa India is looking at exclusivity for these 2 models. I can understand that these were very heavy machines, so that rules out youngsters (college going kids), ladies and elderly people as they wont be able to simply even pull the centre stand into position.
I do not want to reveal the pricing as it is confidential until the launch, but i could run a contest asking Team Bhpians to PM me the prices of both the models, which could win them some prizes !!!!
Meanwhile I was allowed to take some photos after the Market survey, during the Test drive.

Wow. Thats some really good news. Any info on the launch date of the new scooters?

I asked my service centre (Panjim Goa) to install the fly/wind screen. They said they cannot fix it for my Vespa lx 125 :(

@Hillram,
that's really some interesting news. as you rightly said, it wont appeal to ladies. price as you mentioned, can drop your jaw (a die hard Vespa fan), then normal customers wont even think about it i guess.
Vespa should understand that exclusivity doesn't mean a flop product lying in stock yard of company.
hope they bring some more power to Vespa 125 series.
