1965 Royal Enfield Vintage Scrambler Project

This project is already complete. However, I would still like to share the details:

Last year, I was lucky enough to find another enfield standing in the corner of some obscure shop here in New Delhi. This time it was a 1965. I have been eyeing another bike for sometime but couldn't get anything as old as this. After much bargaining later, I bought this Vintage Royal Enfield. Though at a very steep price because it was made originally in Redditch and quite possibly the only 1965 available here. Bank account was flat but I was happy, Yessir !!

And this is what I had in mind for this :

Tires ::

I originally wanted the TKC80's for this project and ordered them but USPS couldn't ship it to India. So had to get a Michelin Rear tire.

Also secured this nice Pirelli. So this was going to be a Michelin-Pirelli setup.

Both Dual Sport tires seemed to compliment the bike very well. The work had restarted and we put on the front tire on a new rim and I decided to go with the bigger drum brakes (yes no disc). New Shocks had also been installed.

Needed to clean those spider webs

Good going. try to keep up as much original parts as possible.
one of my friend also use to buy old enfields, incarnates it, rides it for joy and then sells it for a premium

I've kept all the original parts but since this was a scrambler project, a lot had to be modified

Re: 1965 Royal Enfield Vintage Scrambler Project

Great project can't wait to see the final outcome! I have the same Michelin (Rear) and Pirelli (Front) set up on my RE 500. It's a simply brilliant setup and the bike sticks like a leech around corners

One suggestion, run the tyres on a lower PSI recommended by the company for better grip. I fill 16 PSI in the front and 22 PSI at the rear. It may seem a tad too low, but it works

Love the project. Don't know about a chrome coloured bike though.
