Quick Update:
The Bike has crossed 8100 Kilometer on the Odometer!
Loving every moment on it!
I start it once/twice a month and that too for doing long hauls.

The battery has not given up on me..........yet.(knock on wood!)
Some Rides that I've done(Solo/As a part of a group) include the following routes:
Bangalore-Mysore;Bangalore-Chitradurga,Bangalore-Hassan,Bangalore-Davanagere,Bangalore-Malavalli,Bangalore-Maddur,Bangalore-Sakharaayapattana,Bangalore-Chikka Magloor,Bangalore-Kadur,Bangalore-Belur,Bangalore-Haveri and some others.
The service costs are reasonable save for the 'Chain clean/Lubrication' part.
The per service cost is around 900 INR.
The Modifications done so far are limited to:
1)Center/Main Stand of the FZ-16 retrofitted on to my bike(800 INR),at the Authorized service center.
2)1.5 inches of foam(1 inch of relatively stiff foam + 0.5 inch of relatively soft foam) on the rider seat, only.(I still endure pain in the hind quarters;the onset of which is delayed by 10 Km)
Grouses:
The rear slides on braking and is not as sure-footed as the front is.
The headlight illumination can be termed, at best, as being hazardous.
The Authorized service center is incompetent.
The gear shifting is slick only when I upshift at higher engine RPM.
[A google search regarding the possible reasons for the same, led me a website which said the R 15 has the ,and I quote 'Classic Yamaha long throw shifter']
I will try to update this(my) thread as and when possible.
Some photographs for now:
My first ride to Mysore.(Got there at 2 in the morning!)
The Entire city was indoors and so I snuck a pose in front of the historical Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar Roundabout.

A small butt-break on the NH4 service lane.

My ride with a few fellow riders to Shettihalli.
This is inside the ruins of a Church which is located in the backwaters of the Herur Dam(?).This area is submerged during monsoons!

My first off-road session.
