Is there any reliable online portal for ktm spares? What would be the cost of the complete set of gen3 Duke 390 alloy wheels?

Last I asked, 2022 RC390 wheels were 7.5k each so 15k a set from KTM showroom. They told me all gen duke wheels are around 7.5k each. Newer wheels should be around the same price

A friend is evaluating between a Duke 390 and a Husqvarna svartpilen 401 with alloy swap from gen 2 Duke 250. The service center strangely had no clue about the pricing of the new rims.

Yes it seems they don't have parts of the gen 3 yet. I am eagerly waiting for the gen 3 rear suspension to come up. Might swap one this year.
I dont think gen2 alloy will be a direct swap onto the 401. The axel, disc rotor, spacers will be different. After all this you will have to allign the front and rear wheel with the chassis.
You will be better off replacing it with that of the gen3 or better still with vitpilen’s.

I think he meant Gen 2 D250 which is the current gen. As we didn't have a 250 in the first gen of Indian Dukes.

Aren't the gen 2 Duke 250 alloys same as gen 3 Duke 390? I was under the impression that they are. And he was looking for 250 rims as they come in black for one of the colour scheme.

Yes, you are right. I was under the impression of bs4, bs6 and 2024 model.

As b16h22 rightly said. If you are looking at the current models then the 250 and 390 alloys are the same.
Guys what is the stock company spec chain sprocket gearing for the Gen 1 Duke 390. I might have to go in for a chain sprocket kit replacement soon. And I'm thinking of getting either the fancy brass Rolon one or the fancier RK Takasago that my riding buddy @rb2399 swears by.

The stock set up was 15/45 for gen 1 and 15/44 for gen 2. I have been using RK chain for past few months (15/45 with 112 links) for my gen 2 Duke.
Night ride to a friend's house to pick up some cycling stuff. Love these short night blasts. :cool:

Doc, do you have less-than-recommended oil in the forks, to get a more plush suspension? Mine are upto spec and stiff. For short rides it's quite fine. I'm probably spoilt with the plush suspension on the other motorcycles. But it's also one of the reasons I shuffle between the other motorcycles to get the a feel of other worlds and not put my neck in jeopardy.
The bike is super stock, i absolutely don't start too far from the stock setup, including the oils, pads and other stuff.
Some more pics and you can see the paint corrosion on the footrest brackets and some peel on the right side of the engine case. I'll be getting the footrest brackets painted soon.
I won't sweat too much on the engine casing paint. Although I'm sad about it, I'm in no mood to open the casing for painting or replacing it only for that small patch.

Hey Gordon. No, my forks are bone stock on oil and seals, everything . Got the seal on one leg changed only once. I dont know if its plush (what makes you say so?) but its very nice for my kind of always fire in the butt riding. The rider sag (unlike the soft rear) is just 40 mm. So its actually stiff.
I am a stock fanatic fundamentalist myself. I do not believe in trying to pit my little brain against the Austrian wizzards. And our bikes are Gen 1s. Where the Bajaj imprint was smallest. Ditto my Baby Duke 222. They give you a ready to race bike with top end components and equipment. Enjoy what you're paying for.
Yes the rear shock, the chain, and the fuel pump have all been weak links. Just to be totally fair in my assessment. But its a thousand times better than anything else out there south of half a liter, and I'll take that.

P.S. I was just looking at the photos of both our bikes and my eyes went to the belly pan. Even with the pretty modest ground clearance, Ive rarely ever bashed it anywhere, even fully tour laden in very rocky terrain.
I've been commuting on her for a couple of months now, and sections of my commute are so clogged that bikes, scooters, and even autos regularly jump on and off the pavement as an escape route/valve. The drop off from the pavement to the road is quite a bit, and she does it with ease.
On the move she is like a scalpel. Precise measured cuts through the traffic. My evening commute is always more enjoyable. Once I was in the thick of fast moving traffic with two boys on two all orange Gen 3 390s. Even in your peripheral vision, you cannot miss that bike! Aaaah what fun. Needless to say, in the end the white Duke granddad was ahead when a truce was mutually called. :D

Sadly the Gen 3 Duke's rims aren't a direct fit to the 1st gen Duke's, the mounting points for the discussion and the rest are different, I was eager to swap the lighter rims on mine, but I'll just settle for the old style rims
On the first glance the the suspension from the 3 rd gen Duke's looks like a direct swap with some modifications needed to the swingarm.

I have plush ride only on smooth tarmac roads with my set up which is with heavy fork oil and stuff rear suspension lol: . IMHO the stock set-up on the 1st gen Duke is bad except the standard clutch, with current setup there is a big difference the way the brakes and suspension feels.
And don't forget the brakes were the weak links on the 1st gen 390, just needs a current gen 390 MC kit, some nice oil and sintered pads.
Even I am a OEM spec guy or OEM+ max to max. :)
