Kawasaki's answer to the Yamaha R15

It seems that Kawasaki is readying its Yamah R15 rival, which is undergoing testing in Malaysia. The pics are attached below:

Not sure if the pictures are absolutely clear there but it seems more like a semi flared bike. More in the league of Yamaha Fazer and its siblings...

re: Kawasaki's answer to the Yamaha R15

Hope its a Duke 390 rivaling bike. At the very least. Definite possibility looking at the width of both tyres (compare it to the R15 skinnies .....). I am way past the R15 on the power hunger curve. So selfish, hell yes!

re: Kawasaki's answer to the Yamaha R15

Does not look like a Kawasaki. Though the pictures are not clear but still looks that Kawasaki is another bike parked next to the photographed bike.

I want to know for my knowledge, do the testing bikes have logos on them. These bikes do not look like the test bikes as well. None of the picture is clear in the main link as well and the link requires translation.

Anyway well researched Cardeep. Best wishes

Re: Kawasaki's answer to the Yamaha R15

Definitely not a faired bike. Also from the 1st pic I could only make out 1 exhaust header pipe which means it is a single. Could be a sub-200cc bike in my opinion. A Z200 maybe?

In any case the bikes look production-ready. So the suspense should finish in the coming weeks.

Another pic of the bike (courtesy the same Indonesian website):

This could be a single cylinder 250cc bike instead of 150cc, as is now speculated.

If the Ninja is being moved from 250 cc to 300 cc, then why have a new 250 cc ?

That's a single cylinder 250cc, as compared to parallel (if I recall/ know correctly) twin cylinder layout of the Ninja-250/300. It will obviously be a lot cheaper in single cylinder format & can take care of competition in Asian markets, with the twin cylinder, much more powerful mills for the Japan, Europe & American markets.
