Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched the CD 110 Dream motorcycle at a price of Rs. 41,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike falls in the commuter segment and is the company's most affordable offering in the country till date.

The CD 110 Dream uses a diamond frame with a telescopic suspension at the front and spring loaded dual shock absorbers at the rear. It is available in three colours - black with red stripe, black with grey stripe and black with blue stripe.

The CD 110 Dream is powered by a 109 cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that puts out 8.25 bhp @7500 rpm and 8.63 Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 4-speed gearbox. The bike comes with a kick starter, maintenance-free battery, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and a viscous air-filter. Braking duties are taken care of by 130 mm drums on both wheels. Honda claims that the CD 100 Dream can return 74 kpl of petrol.

Dispatches of the bike begin in mid-July and the bike will be available for sale across the country by August.
Honda is pretty much heating up the entry level segment. This is their cheapest motorcycle offering in India, ever. Harking back to it's earlier successful models (under the erstwhile Hero-Honda brand), they've cleverly used the 'CD' nomenclature. I like the fact that they're offering tubeless tyres even in the Dream segment, although it'd not hurt to offer better braking (read front discs) and creature comforts like self start, even if as an option.

Re: Honda launches CD110 Dream at Rs 41,100

Great to see good old memories rushing back.

In the 80s till almost 2000s, CD 100 and later on CD100SS were the top selling HH models.

Great bike, low cost of maintenance and superior mileage.

Simplistic yet extremely durable and so popular that every roadside mechanic could repair it.

Honda has done wonders to the imagination and this CD110 will bring in lot of happy memories to the entry level segment.

I guess, with the name, "Half of the battle is won"

A refresh for old times sake!!!

This, this is it. This is going to give sleepless nights to the Munjals & Bajajs & Srinivasans alike.

I think this should be a success and a good alternative to the other bread & butter Motorcycles. This segment is the volume generator.

Honda seems to be on track. Always. When they divorced from Hero's they said, they are targetting to be #1 by 2020. Seems like they wanted to achieve it by 2016

This will surely prove to be a game changer. Half of the folks would just get attracted by the name. With such product strategies, Honda are indeed strengthening their candidature for the numero uno spot.

That is possible only if HONDA dealers change their attitude as pointed out so may in this forum. Or is their attitude only restricted to customers coming to buy Activa? I doubt!

Honda's dealers arrogance is true to a greater extent. Even we own an activa and i accept that they are arrogant in many cases. If we look closely, i see that their arrogance isn't going to last for long.
The primary reason which contributed to their arrogance is Humongous demand and insufficient # of dealer ships. Second being Volumes of vehicles being serviced. Third being the number of mechanics available in each service station. Hero takes the top spot with too many mechs per station. (Atleast in our city). With Honda's plan to expand the # of dealerships across india, the issues with service will subside to a greater extent. Probably, we will see a drastic change in the next one to one and a half years.

This really is a best commute option.

But still the cost of long term ownership with Honda Motorcycles prove to be a fatal one with the spare costs unbearably high. Honda has to improve a bit and focus on this area too.

Re: Honda launches CD110 Dream at Rs 41,100

I am planning to buy an entry level bike for our office staff. Confused between a Splendor+ and CD110 or the Splendor Pro and Dream Neo/Yuga. Anyone done a comparison?
