Husqvarna 401 concept - 400cc single & remarkable resemblance to KTM Duke

Husqvarna has just released the images to two concept bikes featuring 400cc singles that will go in production if interest shown is sufficient . The bikes looks amazing and unique .

What struck me immediately is that it looks like these bikes share the same swingarm and maybe even the engine case and the trellis frame which bears a striking resemblance to the duke series engine and frame . Article also mentions WP forks and a wild guess will be they are same/similar as the ones on dukes too . Worth noting is the brand is owned by Stefan Pierer , current CEO of KTM .

Absolutely beautiful. Wish BMW brought this to India instead of the planned TV Dakkar.
Also, the bikes are indeed based on the KTM 390 frame and engine, in more or less stock trim.

Husky no longer under BMW , KTM CEO owns it in its entirety . If the bike shares critical parts(the engine might be a carbon copy for all we know ) that are currently manufactured in India , there is a probability that they might make an appearance here 2/3 years from now . The beauty lies in the unique and clean stance , paintjob is very attractive as well .

My mistake. Didn't know BMW sold the brand.
PS I meant TVS-BMW Draken. No idea how to edit. Autocorrect I tell you.

Lol, cmon doc. At least the black one looks like it ll be a little easier on the butt over bad roads. Agreed the suspension is still the same but the ergonomics look a bit more tuned for 'standing up on the pegs '

I am not at all liking that extra fitting on the fuel tank of the black one. While braking hard from triple digits, you knees loose that grip on the tanks and ouch

That's the husky design philosophy . HH sleek is a bit extreme but not everyone is a fan of the way s husky looks I agree. I love them!

I guess I did not know that. I knew they made edgy bikes. But honestly, these offend my aesthetic sensibilities. Seriously.

Good for concept, I hope the production versions don't resemble these.

I have to say that Doc has hit the nail on the head with his hero Honda Sleek comparison :-) .

This is too much in every way. Give me the KTM anyday!

I think it looks good except for that unibody construction(which makes it look a bit toyish). That frame and that body work doesn't mesh well together IMO.

But those spoked rims.Lovely.Liked the handle bars too.Seeing as its a concept,I suppose its expected that its a bit radical(weird).

But huskies by their nature are slightly different. Its interesting to note that Steve Mcqueen loved his huskies.

Heres a link on the same
