what is a Slipper clutch

guys can somebody please tell me what exactly is a slipper clutch and how exactly does it help these big bikes,as what is on the new Kwacker zx6r... can some one please throw some light???

A slipper clutch (back torque limiting clutch) prevents the rear tire from losing traction when you are downshifting really hard (usually on a turn). If you downshift to a much lower gear as compared to your wheel speed, the clutch slips in and prevent the rear tire from locking up. It allows you to downshift really quickly on a turn without the danger of losing control.
