BMW Motorrad set to formally enter India

BMW Motorrad will formally announce its foray into the Indian motorcycle market with a press conference that will be held at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The brand is expected to display its range of motorcycles at the biennial event, with the G 310 R being the star attraction.

The BMW G 310 R is a product born out of a collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motors. The entry-level performance motorcycle is powered by a 313cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that develops 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The naked street-bike will be produced in India in collaboration with TVS Motors and the G 310 R is expected to be launched in India this year.

The G 310 R will enter the highly competitive entry level performance motorcycle segment and take on rivals like the KTM RC / Duke 390, Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300R.
