Indonesia: New Honda CBR 150R launched

Honda has launched the new CBR 150R in Indonesia. The motorcycle is powered by a 150cc, DOHC single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that makes 17 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm. For reference, the current CBR 150R sold in India uses the same engine to deliver 18.28 BHP (@ 10,500 rpm) and 12.66 Nm of torque (@ 8,500 rpm). Honda has tuned the engine to offer more accessible power and torque. Transmission is through a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Honda also claims that the engine has less friction and offers better fuel efficiency, with an economy figure of 39.72 kpl. The motorcycle is being offered in four colour options - Revolution White, Black Nitro, Honda Racing Red and a MotoGP Edition. The company has set a sales target of 7,000 units per month.

The new CBR 150R features a completely new design with sharper body lines, split LED headlamps, a new digital instrument cluster, LED blinkers, a new exhaust end-can, split seats and a more aggressive riding position. Prices in Indonesia (on-road) range from Rp 32.5 million (around Rs. 1.65 lakh) to Rp 33.3 million (around Rs. 1.69 lakh), depending on the colour chosen.

Those headlamps are amazing. Have a really mean look. The rear for some reason reminds me of the R15. The black recess in the tail look like grab handles but on a closer examination seem to be something else.

Loved the new design. The bike looks quite sleek and the headlamp is super HOT! Does this mean, India also will get the face lift soon? I guess, even then, we'll not get the LED lights.

It's strange that they didn't display the black color?! Instead they have 2 white color bikes. Is the FE figures same in the Indian version too? This is one bike I love to own in the segment.

Edit:: Looking at the bikes, I am confused whether it's a red color or white color in display!

That headlight looks so awesome!

Slightly OT. Is the Indonesian auto market bigger than the Indian one? They sure do seem to get a quite a few vehicle models much before it's launched here.

Re: Indonesia: New Honda CBR 150R launched

Finally a Honda that looks sharp enough take on R15. But will it find commercial success if launched in India? Maybe if launched within the next couple of months and priced competitively.
