Dear All

I am looking to upgrade from my 2009 Bajaj Pulsar 180 to something that would make me happy. Primary use is for office commutes (6-7 Km to & fro) & occasional weekend drives.

What I am looking for:
- Delight primary factor, can compromise a little on the factors below
- Sporty bike, naked preferred, fairing is also ok
- Budget 6L OTR Bangalore
- Don’t mind a used bike as long as I can be sure of the maintenance & VFM

What I am interested in:
- New Bike
- 2017 Harley Davidson Street 750
- believe the liquid cooling will fix heating issues and ABS addresses braking deficiencies
- 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS
- Used (not sure if this will be available in my price range, just asking)
- Kawasaki Z800
- Ducati Monster 821

Any input is most welcome.

2016 Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS would be my choice, it is a perfect combination of fun and utility, esp for daily commutes. Jap so reliable as it gets.

- Used (not sure if this will be available in my price range, just asking)
- Kawasaki Z800
- Ducati Monster 821

Very few in market and for a good bike you will have to shell out 6.5 to 7 in BLR.

You can also try Bonnie for the 6 lakh price range, its a classic afterall and quite entertaining. Only down side it is little heavy.

going from a pulsar, the Kawi 650 ought to be the easiest upgrade. You will familiarize yourself with the ergos easily, it has decent levels of power, and it will be very easy to ride on those long rides. The 650 Kawaskis should be very easy to find. Although I find the 650 Kawasakis a bit boring and I'm not sure I would ever want to own one in the long run. Completely personal opinion though.

As Jaggu suggested, the Bonnevile will be very interesting to own and will definitely get some jealous looks from other motorists as well.

If you look hard enough you might be able to land your hands on a Suzuki Bandit 600 for about 4 lakhs which should save you some money and get you reliable 4cyl thrills

If you dont mind stretching your budget upto 7 lakhs in the used market, you should be able to get yourself a Suzuki B King 1300cc. Simply put a naked Hayabusa. Should have all the power and big bike looks that you will ever need. Enough grunt to keep you entertained for a lifetime

Thanks @Jaggu & @IshaanIan for your inputs. I never knew about these options.

I looked at the Bonneville, the Bandit & the B King. I still like the 650 more though (lookwise at least). To each his own I guess. I will do more research about them though.

What are your thoughts on the 750 2017?

Forgive my ignorance but I checked on the sites but cannot find a ninja 650 with ABS. Am I missing something here? There seems to be no ABS on ninja or er6n.

^^^The Ninja 650, at least in India does not come with ABS. The Versys, which has been launched this year and has the the same 650 cc engine (albeit in a different state of tune) gets the ABS.
