KTM seems to focusing on adventure touring bikes these days. Few days ago we saw KTM 390 adventure on testing and now what it seems to be KTM 790 adventure touring bike based on the same platform as KTM Duke 790 Prototype.

The spy shots suggest that the upcoming KTM 790 Adventure will feature the same minimalist and sharp body language that KTM is known for. The previous images showed the motorcycle without fairing or windscreen, but these ones feature a short blacked out visor up front and a covered up engine. The mid-capacity motorcycle is likely to come with a split LED headlight unit like the upcoming series of KTMs, including the KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

Should be functionally very good - but in these spy pics - all those elements make it look like a product made by a local garage.

Nothing seems to gel with the design!

None of these panels that you see are production ready panels. Everything will be oddly fitted to ensure that spy images will not be able to put together the final finished product.

So what exactly would be the motive then? Engine/performance testing? If yes, don't you think it would redundant given they already have 790 naked out in the field. Just curious 😊

Suspension components, engine mapping (torque), exhaust manifolds, exhaust can, gear ratios, electronics, rider aids, seating, handle bars, tyres, rims. And ofcourse, how all this affects the chassis. The list can go on. All of these components differ from thee 790 duke.

Europe is a very tough market on ill finished bikes.

This is not your average royal enfield testing.

KTM chose its EUROPEAN ADVENTURE RALLY on June 20 as the event to provide an exclusive first look of the model year 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE R.

The info in the article as to the main highlights of the EU version of the 790ADVR:

We can certainly write off the premium suspensions & shock absorbers for what will hit our shores. But all other features seems feasible for the Asian version. With an Asia friendly price tag to boot!

Good for offroaders, but I'm not digging the looks - too flashy for touring.

I love this machine and is probably the only one which will get me to upgrade from the versys-650. Nothing else makes the cut in my head.
