Re: My Milky Bar: Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition. 52 months and 18,000 kms completed!

I have had the chance to get an Access 125 just before the pandemic stared. Stock clearance before BS6 implementation. Last gen BS4 Access 125 and Feb 2021 made. 7000kms done as of today. No complains from me so far. Really satisfied with everything it has to offer. I rode all the scoots in the 125cc segment before finalising this. My 47 year old cousin brother transitioned from his Honda Unicorn to this. He rides it everyday for 60kms to and from work.

I don't know if its just me but that fuel consumption is super high... I mandatorily get a fuel efficiency of 50+kmpl from the same scooter (same mileage too, purchased on 10/08/2018 and done ~17k kms). When I forget to inflate the tyres to proper pressure it drops to high 40s. Each time I use the tripmeter and log the amount of fuel filled (I have data for every tankful since purchase).
On my last tankful I got 55kmpl. The fuel efficiency drops in the winters and goes up in summers.

I used to get 42-43kmpl on the older model Access 125 (purchased in 2008 and sold in 2018 before getting this one).

I have seen people use motor bike oil for scooters and they run fine but I can't really comment since I haven't experienced it myself.

Also for that price you could get two cans of the regular 10w-30 Shell or Castrol engine oil which if changed every 2000-3000 km are enough to keep any scooter chugging happily.
What does the manual say on the grade of oil to be used?

As gear oil- sure, go ahead. Change it every time you change the engine oil. Any way a full can of oil is not needed for the engine.
Yes, its an oil meant for wet clutch motorbikes where the engine and gearbox oils are common. In scooters, its a dry CVT, so the oil is just for the engine. So, yes, this oil might be an overkill for the scooter but should not do any harm at the least. Cost, yes, its around 2.5 times but I'm looking for a longer drain interval as my running is very low and by the time the service schedule comes, it would have hardly run 700-800 kms. Ratings - the manual recommends 10W-30 . As an alternative, it says you can use 10W-40 as well. The JASO rating should be MA (not MB as many scooter oils are). This is MA2 and can be used for MA specifications. Anyway, lets see how it performs. Did the change today at home

Hello, does anyone know the correct NGK iridium spark plug for the new Access 125?
