Royal Enfield, the two-wheeler brand of Indian automobile major Eicher Motors, has outpaced TVS Motor Company to emerge as fourth largest motorcycle seller in cumulative domestic sales between November 2016 to January 2017 in India. The maker of Bullet sold 1,70,292 units in above mentioned period compared to 1,18,489 units sold by TVS Motor.

I find this feat incredible. A decade ago, who would have thought ?
Wonder what steps TVS is taking to counter its floundering sales? RE sales prove that there IS a good sized (And very profitable) market in the 1.5-2.0 L Rupee range. RE sells because of the image, which is its strengths. TVS should capitalize on theirs (Quality, nimbleness) and launch exciting products at double quick pace if they are to stay relevant in the motorcycle market.
