The online sale, dubbed ‘Tribute to the Bravehearts’ will begin on December 13, 2017 on Royal Enfield’s website. Individuals can register themselves on the website and express their interest in purchasing one of these bikes starting December 8, 2017. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to Prerna – a non-profit organization supported by the NSG, which helps educate underprivileged children.

The bikes are painted in ‘Stealth Black’ and feature symbols to commemorate the NSG’s ‘Ride Against Terror’. The bikes are based on the Classic 500 which is powered by a 499cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which delivers 27.2 BHP @ 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes at at the front and rear.

The expedition was aimed at spreading awareness about fighting terrorism. The ride also commemorated NSG’s 33 years of service to the nation and was flagged off on September 7, 2017. Over the course of 40 days, 15 Black Cat commandos visited NSG bases in Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. The ride culminated at the NSG headquarters in Manesar, Haryana on October 16, 2017.

Re: Royal Enfield selling NSG's Stealth Black Classic 500s online

Nice move by RE, of late we have seen manufacturers paying tribute to the services with their (automobile)products.
Bajaj V was the earlier example wherein Bajaj bought some steel of Ex Vikrant and used it in manufacturing 'V' and now RE.
People in India have lot of respect for Armed Forces and when they buy a product like V or Stealth Black 500, they feel connected with the Forces. It is a very nice initiative and I hope more players follow the path of Bajaj and RE.
Having served the nation in uniform it makes me happy to see products like these.
