Since folks had some apprehensions about the seat height - here's a pic of a friend at EICMA sitting on the 390 Adventure. He is 171 cms tall and has both his feet on the ground.

Any information on when the deliveries are supposed to start? There are some reports that they will start in Jan 2020.

So USA dealers have started confirming patrons that the bikes will begin being delivered by Feb 2020, and apparently the first lot will be pre-booked in full.

In order for them to deliver by Feb, bikes have to reach them by Jan. Which means production begins about now and shipments start in Dec. Price announcements have been made for the USA, so i expect dealers to have placed their initial lot orders already.

Keeping this in mind, i think jan 2020 is reasonable for Indian deliveries to begin in the major metros first. Unofficial bookings have already begun and dealers will not accept such bookings without reasonable faith that the bikes will start on the delivery timeline by Jan.

Indian price announcement is in Dec 5th. Official bookings will begin immediately after.

First real test ride of the 390 Adventure. Page 76 onwards. Enjoy!

Some more stuff that’s coming to light now:

1. curved radiator with dual fans.
2. the engine guard looks very different.
3. There is a completely different map for this engine.
4. The cast wheels are reinforced for off-road.
5. Windshield needs screwdriver tool for adjustment
6. Lowering kit with shorter kick stand to be made available.
7. No factory center stand. Bummer.
8. Absolutely no vibes at any speed and at any rev range.

Yes, I have heard that some of the dealers have started taking the bookings, in different names/accounts at this time.

I'm really interested going for the overall package. However, I'm not sure if 855(858?)mm is going to be a big challenge for me (174cms) in the usual riding scenarios, for dirt and off-road, I assume I should be good with building bit more skills on foot-peg/stand-up riding.
A couple things I observed are,
> Rally or rally seat will increase the seat height again by 10-20mm
> Just one riding mode (I was expecting more than one, yeh dil mange more!)
> Would the seat lowering kit reduce GC as well? I guess so!

Yes, and it's almost certainly a No-Go!

I'm guessing this should still be ok, since it isn't a heavy bike. Not a deal breaker.

Absolutely Not.

Suspension lowering kit will reduce the ground clearance. Seat lowering kit won't. Hope they launch these things in India too.

Does anyone know if the engine that the Dukes are equipped with (especially the 390s) is de-tuned/remapped for Indian fuel ? My Owner's Manual for the D390(2017) clearly states RON 95 as the fuel requirement and given the high compression ratio of 12.6 I am not surprised.

Since the ADV is meant for touring as well, I hope the engine can take on all kinds of fuel we get here !

Exactly. I'm guessing the Seat Lowering kit is a reshaped seat with a thinner base.
Suspension lowering on a KTM 390 ADV! lol:

I don't know if they are de-tuned/remapped for Indian fuel, BUT they are detuned to meet european emission norms. KTM has tuned them to run a little lean (less fuel more air). This is why you have many reports of remapped 390s running smoother with less jerkiness at low rpms and also why you have many reports of blown head-gaskets on bone stock 390s. One of the rare cases where remapping could prove more reliable than factory tune :D

Good or bad news, don't know yet... but little birdie says it might be a direct BS6 launch and if so price might be a bummer! Hope the latter does not happen and they manage to launch it under 4 Lakhs on road :) Will know at IBW launch is what I understand.

Another news is Huski announcement might just also happen, even otherwise it is around the corner.

Of course it’s a bs6 launch. This was the reason why the bike was delayed from last year to now. They wanted to crack both the euro 5 and bs 6 emissions at one go and not go through another revision cycle a year later. There is no BS4 adventure.

The Duke 390 bs6 will also be out.

Husky apparently only after April in the showrooms. Also delayed because of BS6. The KTM showrooms need a full overhaul with husky branding before the bikes are out. They will spread the launches out to avoid marketing clutter.

USA price is 6100 usd. 4.37 lakhs inr. I think we will be safe.

Not sure I will buy if it is more than 4 OTR, doesn't make sense. Instead will pick a new Himalayan, less power and less gadgets but darn comfy for my use. Anyways tiger is there for other needs.

Makes sense, however for a single bike garage to do both touring and those single tracks in india, this is THE bike.

I sold my Versys.
