So here's a few updates about the bike in the last month since the 3rd free service:
The rim tapes that I had ordered from Ali-Express finally arrived, about a month after they were ordered. Neatly packed, they were a breeze to install, save for a few negligible mis-alignments due to my DIY technique. The fact that they were dirt cheap (approximately INR 80) was the icing on the cake. They are reflective, and do make a considerable difference in the visibility as well as in the overall looks of the bike. Attaching a few images below. Meanwhile, it's been almost two months but Ali-Express has failed to deliver the tank-pad which was ordered at the same time as the rim tapes. This proves that the site remains to be a gamble, at least in my opinion.
The panel with the defective '35 years of TVS Racing' sticker, which was ordered during the 3rd service finally arrived after 1.5 months of constant follow-ups with one of the service advisors and a little interaction with the Head of After Sales (Priyanka TVS) as the part took longer than usual to arrive. Coming to the point here, the part change was done free of cost as I had claimed warranty and it took about an hour to get the job done. The engineer asked me if there was any other issue I am facing that needs to be looked into. I told him there is no problem, just that one of the screws (I assumed) near the oil filter wasn't screwed back properly. I asked him to fix that which he did in about 5-10 minutes. It was a bit surprising that he missed out something like this during the last service. I too noticed it when I was cleaning the bike one fine Sunday. I didn't care about it much as long as I faced another similar issue yet again. Speaking of which, this time, while putting the tail section panel back, he (the service engineer) might have misjudged the alignment and this resulted in some plastic part protruding from under the tail section. While it shouldn't be a problem as such technically, it has triggered my OCD real bad. I messaged him the next day and he asked me to bring it over to get it fixed properly. What these folks don't understand is the fact that for such small issues that they don't pay attention to, I have to travel all the way to Panvel and back, which is a 70 km's round trip. I wouldn't entirely blame the service engineer though, he's always been a sincere guy but seemed loaded with work that day. Killing time at the SVC was a pain as the AC located in the customer lounge wasn't working well. I was hoping it would be fine during this visit as they had promised to get it fixed when I had gone for my 3rd service back in March and it was defunct even then. C'mon TVS, small things that can make a considerable difference, specially given the heat these days.

After getting the new panel fixed on the bike, it was time for another coat of ceramic coating, or curing/re-validation of ceramic coating as they call it. I asked the folks at Maxshine how much they would charge me for coating the new panel, to which they responded that the price would be negligible. I was kinda relieved that they wouldn't charge much and asked them to take as much time as they'd like to get the job done. Pritish, who was at the shop then, said that instead of giving it to me the same evening (I had dropped off the bike around 10 AM), he could give it to me the next day in the morning. Upon reaching reaching the next day, Pritish wasn't at the shop so I happened to ask his sub-ordinate regarding how much I need to pay for coating of the new panel. He had a word with Pritish on call and said it came to INR 2,000!

I was shocked since they had charged me INR 8,000 for the whole bike! I waited for Pritish to come and after having a word with him, he reduced the amount to INR 1,500. I didn't want to make an issue since it wasn't worth it. I paid the amount and left, but not before taking a few photos. I was happy with the work, no doubt, but this charging a bit high for one panel episode left a bad taste in my mouth. Here are the images post the curing process: FYI, the panel itself costs around INR 950.
The reflection of the sky is clearly visible after the curing process. Oh boy, do I love seeing her like this:
Two days after returning from the SVC, I see this gear position indicator issue is back to haunt me. I shared this photo with the service engineer via Whatsapp and he asked me to bring it over to see what the issue is, yet again. TVS Motor Company, how many visits do you want me to make? One visit each for every small problem that pops up in the bike?
Ending the post with a few random images of the bike:
That's the best (instrument cluster based) average I've ever got on the bike. Realistically, it returns about 30 kmpl based on the tank to tank method:
