Re: The Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle

Does anybody in our community owns a Revolt? I am yet to see a review from an actual owner of Revolt.

It looks good on paper for local commutes. I am planning to buy an e-bike for local commute around our office. The roads are totally broken in our area and I feel this motor cycle design will be much better than the scooter design.

A friend of mine in Chennai took a detailed test ride of the RV400 and he gave me the following feedback. He said that Revolt delivered the first batch of vehicles (Two RV300 vehicles) in Chennai this month. He also owns an Ather so you can see comparison points to that

Quote:
Revolt RV400 pros:

1. Throttle is super light and smooth...way better than Ather.
2. Bike is light weight...same as Ather.
3. Foot pegs can be adjusted in two positions for tall riders...Gives relaxed or sporty feel.
4. Light weight handlebar...easy city driving.
5. Upside down fork + mono shock suspension setup...very good for our bad roads.
6. Headlight is led + projectors...Better than Ather.
7. Headlights turns when you turn the handle bar.
8. No waiting for charging with swapping battery in 2 min.
9. More than 20 swapping stations planned.
10. Very smooth and silent ride.
11. Regen settings are good.
12. Bigger wheels...better control.
13. Vodafone 4G.
14. Artificial sounds.
15. Keyless entry / side lock has key
16. Zero down payment
17. Easy purchase options...No confusing subscriptions

Revolt RV400 cons:

1. Mode selector switch not good...Ather's is better.
2. Horn is not that great.
3. Stand is not solid like Ather's but does the job.
4. Since the motor is directly connected to wheel due to high torque there is a jerky feeling when we throttle up. In Ather there is a transmission in between so there is no jerky feel.
5. Brakes are not sharp like Ather but not bad either.
6. I dont think there is any AI In this bike as they claim it. It's a no nonsense zero intelligent bike.

Re: The Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle

Revolt has stopped taking bookings of the Revolt RV 300 and Revolt RV 400 electric bikes, saying that the company will not be accepting fresh bookings due to an overwhelming response.

The company said in a statement that it's overbooked and will first cater to its customers who have already placed orders and deliver the confirmed orders. The company will re-open bookings after meeting the current set of orders it has already received from six cities where it has presence.

Re: The Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle

I was quite impressed by the performance of the Revolt-RV400 while on a test drive. The only deterrents for me would be the massive 20 kg battery pack that I would have to lug around if I need to charge it up and the obvious range anxieties when I'm commuting on long weekday trips back and to office and home. I hope they come out with a long range version or at least give customers an option to purchase a power pack like Zero Motorcycles does in the USA.

Re: The Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle

I think we should introduce some facts here about the Revolt:
1. This product is based on 'Chinese' underpinnings, as per reports.
2. A localization level of 70% has been achieved for this product, which means both Battery/Motor could possibly be from China.
3. Warranty on the battery is a humongous 8 years.
4. The Motor produces a paltry 4 HP.

Compare this to the Ather 450:
1. It's products are designed ground up in India.
2. Localization levels are 90%. Only the cells of the Li-On battery are imported.
3. Warranty on the battery is a lowly 3 years.
4. The motors produces a decent 7.2 HP.

Businesses focussing on assembling chinese kits are ruling the roost in India's electric two wheeler space, another such example is Okinawa.

I don't understand how the Govt. allows them to get away with this.

Re: The Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle

Recently came across SVM Motors Prana motorcycle on the internet. Seems like a better product than the Chinese developed Revolt, but is not very popular due to lack of media coverage.
