Hero Glamour BS6 spied ahead of launch Quote:
As seen from the image, the test mule wears a lot of camouflage. However, there are some evident design highlights such as the body-coloured mirrors, pillion grab rail and red-coloured springs at the rear. From the looks of it, the new 2020 Hero Glamour is not majorly different from the outgoing model.
Prices will definitely go up, but the relatively lesser upgrades over the existing model could make the extra costs less substantial. The new insurance rates, mandatory inclusion of ABS or CBS braking and of course, the introduction of BS6, would definitely have their impact on the new price. We expect the ex-showroom price to rise by around 10% from the current rate (starting from around Rs 62,000).
During EICMA 2019, Hero MotoCorp released a teaser video of the Euro V (equivalent to BS6) version of the Glamour. In the video, the commuter motorcycle featured a semi-digital instrument console identical to the existing model. A three-way catalytic converter, fuel-injection and an engine control module make it compliant to the updated emission norms.
The Hero Glamour employs the brand’s Idle Stop-Start System (i3S) which promises better fuel efficiency. It is equipped in many other Hero MotoCorp products as well. The engine unit remains mostly the same and is expected to showcase similar output figures. The current BS-IV Hero Glamour comes with a 124.7 air-cooled OHC engine which makes 9bhp and 10.35Nm of torque. Transmission duties are done by a humble 4-speed gearbox.
