The CBF 190R is powered by a 184cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 15 BHP and 15 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike features upside down fork suspension at the front and has a monoshock at the rear. It comes with petal type disc brakes at both ends.

Honda hasn't made any announcement yet confirming the CBF 190R for India.

Wow. Looks bit radical for a commuter Honda. But why Honda is bothering to patent this when it just produces 15ps and 15nm power specs? Not sure where or which segment it is going to compete! Pulsar 180 may be?

This is a disgrace to the CBF125, but I'm pretty sure this will sell beyond logic for the same reason the Activa outsells competition.

I just hope someday Honda takes our market seriously, but for that to happens the consumers need to demand better products rather that forgo commonsense and buy just about anything Honda manufactures.

As good as it looks, the numbers are woefully adequate, 15 BHP when the 200NS already produces 23-24 BHP. This one also sports a 5 speed gearbox.
But being a Honda it might be smoother than the 200NS.

Re: Honda files CBF 190R patent in India

What would be nice is if they make this a retro design. Like a 200cc version of the CB1100, priced under 2 lakhs on-road. Totally doable. Right now there are hardly any traditional motorcycles this side of 2 lakhs, making Royal Enfield is popular by default.

But they (all Japanese companies) decide to launch more and more sportbikes. I think they don't understand a country where biking is not just passion, it is also family transportation, and a sizeable piece of the market needs a bike that fits both needs.
