Deliveries of the BS6-compliant Jawa and Jawa Forty Two have begun. The bikes were launched in March this year with prices starting at Rs. 1.73 lakh and Rs. 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.



Both the Jawa and Forty Two models are powered by an updated 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 26 BHP and 27 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

According to Classic Legends, this is the world's first single-cylinder engine to feature a cross port configuration. It is claimed to improve the volumetric efficiency of the engine. It also features a newly positioned lambda sensor.

Classic Legends has also updated the seat cushioning. The company also claims to have reworked the gearshift for a more slicker experience.

Alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, blacked-out bits and smoked visor will be a welcome addition, but Jawa needs to create a buzz in the segment else they'll lose out completely. I wonder what happened to the scrambler and adventure motorcycles they were planning to launch using the same platform.

Just for laughs, while you're wondering at the scrambler & adv's, most of us are wondering where the dealerships are located & most importantly where're the motorcycles on the road

To start with, Jawa needs to hire a marketing team and reach the public, only then we can know of many details about their bikes.

Looks darn good in this avatar, but then again, looks were never a problem. I hope Jawa has taken the feedback from the owners seriously and sorted out all the niggles. They also need to increase the ground clearance and seat length, from the pics though it seems like they haven't addressed these two issues.

I love to stare at this bike. I love how it looks & sounds but when it comes to spending my hard earned money, I just can't trust the group behind this specially the way they have handled this product. Just can't trust, I so wish to, but just can't.
