Location of OLA Electric Scooter factory

It is not 'outskirts' of Bangalore or near Hosur as told in many places on internet. It is in a very unheard of Village'ish sleepy town called Pochampalli.

Pochampalli is a small hamlet south of Krishnagiri and it has recently opened up a State developed Industrial estate popularly called SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamilnadu Ltd).

The factory is 20km from pochampalli, 45km from Krishnagiri and about 130km from Bangalore.

This may be a shot in the arm for towns surrounding this previously unheard of Village'ish Pochampalli.

With so many people talking about 1 lakh as the possible price of the Ola scooter, looks like this price point is almost given. Will be a great move by Ola as low entry point will bring in the masses.

Ola Future Factory Phase 1 construction nears completion, production to commence soon, shares Bhavish Aggarwal.



The Ola Future factory Phase 1 has been built in a time of 4 months. The plant will commence production of the electric scooters soon.

Good choice of location, only the weather won’t be as mild as Hosur, I expect the place to be hot.

Pochampalli?. The first thing that came to my mind was a similar sounding Pochampally in Telangana which is known for its silk sarees. So for clarity this town is different. Even though it appears in the middle of no where, considering that Ather's factory is in Hosur, which is 80 Kms away, its probably a good choice as any mega factory would want their sub vendors close by and its common sense that sub vendors for both the brands would be the same.

It would be interesting to know if this is a cost cutting move. Would they be paying the same salaries as would to a male worker? I hope they do, but the manufacturing industry is notorious in these matters.
