Corda: Bike or car with 3 wheels?

This is the Corda. This was made by German Wolgang Rabe in Sweden before he moved production to Norway just 30 kilometers away from my place.

The outfit is built from a VW Passat with a 2 liter turbo diesel engine and automatic transmission. It has drive on all 3 wheels. The passenger has all the comforts of a car with heater and aircon.

A friend of mine has one. He rides it all year.

Re: Corda: Bike or car with 3 wheels?

Is it a motorcycle with a sidecar?

Or a three wheeled car?

In my books if you are straddling a seat and has handlebars for steering it is not a car.

But then this thing has a 2.0l diesel engine!!! And looks like three wheels set asymmetrically! Add to that Aircon and heating with an open body.

All said, am genuinely curious about the performance, with all those torque in a light body and the potentially stupendous fuel economy.

The only video I could find in YouTube.

The bike is very fast. It will go as fast as you dare to ride it. I have seen it taking off on snow and gravel. There was no slipping or skidding. Drive to the rear wheels is by a belt and the front wheel by a driveshaft
