Re: Royal Enfield launches limited edition helmets from Rs. 6,950

They are cashing in (and how !) on an opportunity that has presented itself. And their marketing division is spot on, even if their mechanical QC Division has yet to match up to it.

It makes me wonder, why can't other companies follow suit? Royal Enfield is showcasing 120 years of their Heritage.

I may be off topic here, but what can't automotive companies, Royal Enfield included, start their own line of helmets / apparel, possibly celebrating 50 years of the successful 1971 operations? All they have to do is contribute in their own small way in portraying on their helmets (and maybe a line of apparel) the successful operations of the 1971 war - the Tangail Air Drop, The Meghna Air Bridge, The Chchachchro - Nagar Par Kar Raid, the Battle of Basantar .

Maybe even visages of JS Aurora, Sagat Singh or Sam Manekshaw ?

As it is the Government of India is already showcasing the 50th year of liberation of Bangladesh.

Maybe the motorcycling companies and those involved in making apparel and protective gear can take a cue and start a line in commemoration of the same? While Royal Enfield is celebrating 120 years of their motorcycling Heritage, it might not be an entirely bad idea to showcase military achievements of the Indian Armed Forces by commissioning a line of products - apparel, helmets, protective gear... to coincide with the Swarnim Vijay Varsh and portray operations, milestones, events of the '71 War. It may / may not make commercial sense, but it'll sure as hell grab eyeballs, and acquit itself as a nice, meaningful gesture to acknowledge the stellar contribution of the Indian Armed Forces.

It'll be a thoughtful way to commemorate the gallant people that go on toiling steadfast for the nation, giving their all, and sometimes more, in doing so.

Just an off-tangent thought.

Cheers !

Re: Royal Enfield launches limited edition helmets from Rs. 6,950

This is the helmet I purchased.

Quality is very good, but I have no plans to use it

Fit and finish is great. Paint job is good and very glossy.

Leather finish is also very soft and handmade.

Its more of a collector item for me and I have securely placed it

Black Star, this is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. This is a really beautiful helmet. I hadn't seen this before. I have seen a few being worn by people, but never this one.

Re: Royal Enfield launches limited edition helmets from Rs. 6,950

I bought 2 helmets during the 120 year sale period, one is an open face helmet called Go Interceptor and the other is a full face helmet called Bullet Superstar, the leather padding used is of good quality, and they have a small description about the helmets mentioned on the tag inside with the helmet number out of 120, using both as I didn't want them to eat dust sitting in a shelf. Attaching pictures.

Lovely helmet, I was looking at RE open face helmets, most weigh around 1kg but then there is a model going by the name 'Spirit'(the most expensive after carbon fiber model), I can't say if it is a misprint(half of the description given below the helmet on their website is about NH44 helmet, so misprint can't be ruled out) but the weight mentioned is 1.4kgs! I was curious as to why does it weigh more than other open face helmets.

How much does your 120 Anniversary helmet weigh, if if you happen to know whether it is polycarbonate or thermoplastic?
