Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 launched in India at Rs 1.57 lakh

Yamaha has launched the YZF-R15S V3.0 in India at Rs 1,57,600 (ex-showroom). The new motorcycle is available only in the Racing Blue colour.

The highlighting feature of the Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 is the single-piece seat. The company says that it has introduced this model based on customer demand. Apart from the 'unibody seat', the rest of the features remain similar to those of the regular R15 V3.0.

The Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 is powered by a familiar 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 18.3 BHP @ 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm @ 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also features Yamaha's VVA technology.

Some of the other features of the Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 include a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, aluminium swingarm, LED headlamps, side stand engine cut-off and an assist and slipper clutch.

The R15S V3.0 is on sale alongside the Yamaha R15 V4, which has recently received a price hike.

Customer demand? LOL. Just admit the fact that you are too lazy to innovate something new. The old R15S had a very usable single seat. I doubt if this one has the same level of usability of the previous version.

I really wish Yamaha adds a 6th gear to the FZ25, that will justify its customer centric brand positioning.

On a lighter note, that sure is one cute looking R15M

What does the S mean? Is it more comfortable?

If they were really that keen to have a more user friendly pillion seat with a single seat layout, they should have gone for a straight seat approach instead of this stepped up seat. And along with that should have provided little bit more raised handlebar to give more comfortable ergonomics.
