TVS Motors is gearing up to launch a new variant of the NTorq 125. It could be called the NTorq 125 XT.



While details of the new variant are scarce, it is expected to be positioned at the top of the NTorq range, which currently includes the Standard, Race, Super Squad and Race XP variants.

The teaser image suggests that the NTorq XT could get a new set of alloy wheels. The scooter also appears to have green decals on the front cowl.

The NTorq 125 XT is likely to be powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder engine. In the standard model, this engine puts out 9.25 BHP and 10.5 Nm, while the Race XP packs 10 BHP and 10.8 Nm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission.

Scoop! TVS NTorq 125 XT starts reaching dealerships

The upcoming TVS NTorq 125 XT has started reaching dealerships. Here are the first images of the new variant that is expected to be positioned at the top of the NTorq range.



The NTorq 125 XT will be offered in at least one eye-catching shade of matte grey with lime green highlights. It features a new set of alloy wheels, an LED headlamp and a digital instrument console that even has a lap timer function.



The NTorq 125 XT is likely to be powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder engine. In the standard model, this engine puts out 9.25 BHP and 10.5 Nm, while the Race XP packs 10 BHP and 10.8 Nm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission.



The TVS NTorq 125 is currently available in Standard, Race, Super Squad and Race XP variants.

TVS Ntorq 125 XT launched at Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Ntorq gets a top of the line XT variant, which is about Rs 13,000 more expensive than the Race XP.

- New wheels
- New green paint scheme
- Twin-display instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and voice assist.
- The new display can show things like social media alerts, food delivery status, sports scores, air quality index, news, and more when the scooter comes to a halt.
- The voice assistant will accept commands to change modes, adjust the screen brightness, navigation, music change.

Looks Great IMHO, But 13k more for a few minor changes and a better instrument cluster? Isn't it a bit too expensive? Should touch around 1.15 On Road easily.

TVS is easily amongst the most active, enthusiastic and enthusiast - oriented and run two wheeler brand in India, this too seems like a winner and I'am sure whatever minor short comings will be there will be proactively addressed by them.

The console seems to be cool too but personally only thing I do miss in my Bike's console which has Speedometer/ODO/Trip Meter/Fuel Guage/Gear indicator/RPM Meter/Fuel Efficiency Section is Navigation details through bluetooth and preferrably directly from Google Maps without any middle app involved, while this is a nice to have feature in a car, it is sortof a necessity in a 2 Wheeler, especially for people like me who don't like to mount their phones in the bike or wear any sort of earphones while riding. (A possible safety hazard)
This seems to address that (and much more too) but food delivery indication is the most random and abstract feature I have ever heard in any car/bike. The use case for that seems ultra slim to me.

I think this is a ridiculous proposition. All that premium for a big screen giving out information that you can get on your mobile and you have no use for on the go, doesn't really seem to make sense.

They should rather have launched a GT version, setup for touring, a la the Burgman. That would have made much more sense in my opinion.

The first thing I was checking for when I saw this news is the engine specs (given they launched the Race XP with bumped up BHP). I believe based on some news that its getting the base engine specs, making it a really ludicrous variant for the asking price.

I can’t see the logic of launching a much higher priced variant with the base engine specs when they’ve already gone the XP way sometime last year. I find it hard to imagine potential buyers will see INR 13k worth of incremental value in this variant over the Race XP. This video below by Zigwheels is bang on point.

It's almost as if a bunch of old people formed a think tank to figure out what the youth of today seek in a scooter and then just gave up and looked up the meaning of 'youth' in the dictionary and thought "ahh yess..guess we've figured it out boys" and came up with these great 'features'.

But seriously, what's the point of showing "food delivery status " on you scooter? What the...but...the hell !! (My head hurts )

How is the voice assistant going to work while stationary on even a moderately busy road with so much ambient noise? Let alone while riding. What is the purpose?
