Tripper Navigation deleted from Royal Enfield Meteor & Himalayan

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Himalayan no longer come with Tripper Navigation. The feature has been deleted from the standard package and will only be available as an optional accessory, effective May 1, 2022.

According to the company, Tripper Navigation has been removed from the standard features list due to the ongoing chip shortage. As a result, Royal Enfield has also reduced the prices of these models by Rs 5,000.

As you might be aware, Tripper Navigation was offered as standard on the Meteor 350 and Himalayan, while the Classic 350 and Scram 411 got it as an accessory.

That being said, Royal Enfield has increased the booking amount of its made to order factory models through the MiY (Make it yours) platform from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. However, the regular bookings still stand at Rs. 10,000 as before.

Does this mean that the tiny display will now only show the time ?
I hope it shows some more features connected over blue-tooth, else the tiny will not have a big meaning in the display cluster.

The entire unit will be omitted by default. It will only be equipped on the bike if the customer opts it as an accessory option.

Re: Tripper Navigation deleted from Royal Enfield Meteor & Himalayan

I had it on my Meteor from January 2021. Its very slow, buggy and confusing and never used it after couple of tries. Currently I'm using a phone holder which bought for around Rs 1000. Now I have very good navigation and I can also see if I'm getting a call etc.

Even it couldn't keep time properly. If you don't connect it to your bluetooth (which is a clunky process in itself) from time to time, the time will be off significantly.

This is how it will be now. That small display has been omitted completely. Pic taken from the RE app

Exactly. It even looks odd on the new Scram 411. Hopefully someone makes a mount to bring it to the centre. I think its pretty easy, if places like Bandidos Pitstop give it a try.

Wow, I don't have any more expression looking at the omission including the final design which is left over.

They really not looked into improving themselves, the dial size should have made bigger and centered but nothing happened as such, RE not interested to break the surprises.

Re: Tripper Navigation deleted from Royal Enfield Meteor & Himalayan

Atleast the RE Thunderbird's instrument cluster was relatively low tech but had a symmetrical design. This is just lazy design!

I had booked this bike in April and according to my last conversation with the sales rep, they are not even providing the Tripper Nav Unit as an option quoting that RE has stopped supplying them. I think it's best that everyone who has booked or is looking to book this bike, check with their nearest RE showrooms.

To me, this feature deletion + the 3 month waiting period is a deal breaker.

Was about to ask if anyone was going to miss it and you answered. Good riddance then and now that's 5k extra in the buyers pocket for a good mobile holder and fuel for a long trip.
