Looks interesting, Definitely the color schemes are going to be lit, But sales wise, Don't think it will perform good in a long run when looking at the sales chart of it's sibling from another mother.

I think a lot of people are waiting to see what sort of dash BMW is going to use. The TVS Apache 310 RR has one of the best LCD screens among any Indian made bike and BMW has been so far lacking in this department as the dash they use on their 310 twin bikes are pedestrian in comparison.

I think this will be a more successful model than Apache 310RR if the price difference is not more than ~30k. People will buy it for just the snob value.

Apache 310RR doesn't sell that good, doesn't mean it is not a good product.
I think there was a brand dilution and people paying more than 2 Lakhs doesn't want to be associated with the Apache brand.
It would have probably worked under a different brand name.

Well. I have had that snob side of me repenting, buying the RR 310 over the G 310 R.

But guess I'm just a couple thousand bucks away from converting to a BMW huh?

re: BMW G 310 RR launched in India, priced from Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.99 lakh

Really looking forward to own the BMW G 310RR. I really don't understand why people dislike the fact that BMW is selling a product that has another company with them in a JV. I think it will give me assurance? I don't really care if someone called it an Apache 310. I think the product is really good and absolutely fine.

As a owner of a 155.8cc Aprilia SR, I am so happy to finally see the BMW G310RR! I really like the KTM 390 as well but I think it is a tad too extreme. The Interceptor isn't really appealing to me. Even though it is an iconic product. Simply superb?

The BMW Bullet or Balloon Plan seems okay and I am looking forward to owning this beautiful machine. So happy to see the 310RR get a few BMW exclusive cues!
Yes, I am a BMW fan. All I want is a 6 speed tourer that can munch miles. The G310RR seems like a great upgrade.

re: BMW G 310 RR launched in India, priced from Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.99 lakh

It appears as though BMW will price the G310RR between the TVS Apache RR310 and the more expensive KTM RC390. That is a sensible route to take. If it finds buyers, then good for both BMW and TVS.

The G310RR will do a lot better in international markets (where the BMW badge has tremendous sway), than it will in value conscious India. The BMW G310GS has been well received abroad. It should be more of the same with the G310RR.

Whatever the badge on the tank, the faired 310 is a proven and capable product. In India, the premium positioning of KTM motorcycles, makes the faired 310s look even more attractive. More choice is always better for Indian motorcyclists!

Badge value aside, the 310RR would be a better value only if BMW brings the adjustable suspension stock.

As said in my previous post, I did have an eye on the G 310 R. But still bought the 310 BTO, which is also about 10-12k extra on road, thanks to a wider service reach of TVS.

I personally am now waiting for TVS to bring that sweet factory team Petronas livery and ditch the current horrible race livery on offer. The red and black too on the RR 310 are getting old now.

All this bike will do is dilute the BMW brand even more and piss off it's existing customers

This really was not the need of the hour, if this bike needs anything, it's a competent twin cylinder motor like the Ninja 300, not a new sticker job.

I have bad news for you

No adjustable suspension by default. Will probably be an add-on like it was in the BTO route for the RR.

re: BMW G 310 RR launched in India, priced from Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.99 lakh

There is no hype whatsoever for this on TeamBHP or the internet in general

I'm for one really looking forward to the launch. The Apache rr310 is a competent product, and if BMW improves on a few fronts and prices this just about right, it could prove to be a decent option. Depending on the overall response, will go with either the G 310 RR or Baby GS as my next purchase.

A prospective question to my fellow BHpians: would the G 310 RR or GS310 be a sane option for someone looking to enter the biking world? My experience is limited to daily market runabouts in the humble 150cc category bikes and scooty, but I intend to buy a new, decently equipped bike to do occasional Mumbai-Pune-Satara trips, and explore the nearby region on a bike. Nothing more than that, no adventurous off-roading, or long inter-state trips.

If you have the budget 310GS is a very nice bike. It has very good suspension and its a moderately powerful, worth exploring.
During my search for replacement of Himalayan, I test rode 2022 Himalayan, KTM390, BMW 310GS, Pulse 200 etc. And I found GS to be best of the lot.
