| ![]() Don't know much about salvaging a bike, but do let us know about your friend's decision. And if he does decide to keep it, keep us updated on the repair process. ![]() |

| ![]() On a separate note, is it possible for water to enter the engine block through the following 1. A submerged Exhaust 2. A Submerged oil Drain plug or Oil filler cap This happens in case the water is almost covering 3/4 of the tyre. |

| ![]() This exact same thing happened with my 2004 Hero Honda CBZ, where it was submerged in dirty water for over 3 hours. I don't know how but the HH technicians had it up and running within 24 hours and asked me to come pic it up from the service station. I bring this up since the Karizma seems like the same gen from that period and perhaps it can still be fixed. Again no idea what those guys did back then, I was just happy that my bike was ready to ride and never gave any issues. I rode it for 9 years after that incident. I hope it gets fixed. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hi folks, My friend has been following this thread with keen interest and shares his heartfelt thanks to all of you for your valuable suggestions. As a result he has sent his bike for restoration. The mechanics mentioned that it would take a few weeks to bring this ride back in shape. I shall keep updating this thread as and when I have new information. For now, here are some visual updates: The bike before it was finally sent for restoration: ![]() They managed to take out 3 litres of water as soon as it had reached the mechanics: ![]() |

| ![]() Very similar thing happened to my Activa, a friend ended up falling with it into a pond, completely submerging it. The mistake we did was we tried to start it dozens of times. This was at 15k kms. The Activa was fixed for a mere 2.5k rupees and continued to serve us till 45k kms when the con rod gave up. (The result of hydrolock at 15k kms) |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Work is in progress. The tank has been drained. There was a lot of water in it: ![]() The K&N filter is damaged beyond repair. Needs new filters: ![]() The bike has been opened and a continuous flushing of the engine is being done with oil to remove the moisture. ![]() ![]() ![]() There is still water in the engine. ![]() Last edited by sub.g84 : 24th June 2022 at 15:23. |

| ![]() The original Karizma is a great looking bike and we have a couple of them in our apartment and I envy them. Good luck with your restoration. It is a bike worthy to restore. Cheers. ![]() |
