Keeway K-Light 250V launched at Rs. 2.89 lakh

Keeway has launched the K-Light 250V cruiser bike in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs. 2.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open and deliveries will commence from mid-July.

Keeway is a Hungarian 2-wheeler maker. Earlier this year, the company showcased the K-Light 250V along with the Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i scooters in India.

The Keeway K-Light 250V features an LED headlamp up front and a short tail section. It has a stepped seat set at a height of 715 mm and a 20-litre fuel tank. The bike comes with a digital instrument cluster that offers connectivity features like remote engine cut-off, geo-fence, ride records, etc. It even comes with a panic button that shares the bike’s location with two pre-selected contacts.

Powering the K-Light 250V is a 249cc, V-twin engine that makes 18.4 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 19 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and a belt drive.

The bike is equipped with upside-down fork suspension at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The brake setup consists of single discs at the front and rear with dual-channel ABS.

Keeway is offering a 2-year / unlimited km warranty on the K-Light 250V.

Re: Keeway K-Light 250V launched at Rs. 2.89 lakh

Bike looks good. A V-Twin Bike for the price of single Cylinder Bikes (excluding the 650 Twins) looks mouthwatering. I doubt sales will be satisfactory for an unknown manufacturer in India given the way UM Motorcycles also suffered the same fate. Hope the Manufacturer sees success and India gets more of the new Brands setting up shop.

Re: Keeway K-Light 250V launched at Rs. 2.89 lakh

Even though they market it as a Hungarian motorcycle, It is a rebadged Chinese motorcycle with a V twin engine which makes horse power close to the 150cc singles sold in India. Spec sheet does not look promising. I feel this is overpriced for a market like India. 2 year warranty isn't enough as well. I would be surprised if the bike sells in triple digits after 6 months.

Why would anyone buy it over 650 twins? Its a DOA product with those engine specs. Either price it close to other bikes producing 18/19 hp or make it go like a 3 lac rupee bike should.

Re: Keeway K-Light 250V launched at Rs. 2.89 lakh

While the bike looks good (The baby Harley Davidson looks have grown on me a little) this is doomed to fail.

The only unique thing the K-Light 250V offers is the fact that it's a V-Twin and nothing else. And the price is the nail in the coffin.

2.89 lakh Ex-showroom is almost 20,000 more than the on-road price of a Classic 350 (Chrome paint) or Dual tone Meteor 350 Supernova in Bangalore.

The 2.89 lakh Ex-showroom price also puts the wannabe Chinese cruiser against the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor/Continental GT 650, KTM Duke 390, Honda CB300R and the BMW/TVS trio (G310GS ADV, G310R Naked and RR310 Sportsbike) and I don't see any reason why anyone would pick the Keeway over any of these bikes. Plus as I already mentioned, the bikes that it can compete with like the Royal Enfield Classic/Meteor 350 and Honda CB 350 H'ness/RS are priced 90,000-1 lakh less than the Keeway.

Re: Keeway K-Light 250V launched at Rs. 2.89 lakh

We all know it is a Chinese rebadged bike. Hungarian heritage is perhaps same like the American pedigree of UM bikes. The price looks like a robbery attempt when you look at the 150cc power figures. Be careful with your purchase

The folks at Keeway must be smoking some amazing stuff if they feel this bike is going to sell in good numbers. At a similar price point, there are a number of bikes out there which offer a lot more.

At 3Lac+ on road, who's going to buy it, and it makes me wonder, if there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now!
