Yamaha confirms 14bhp 150cc by mid-2008, most likely the Vixion

SOURCE : Yamaha plans to launch 150cc bike by mid-2008-Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

80-90k for a 150cc? I would like to have the machine with USDs, front and rear discs, digital instrumentation, sticky rubber, high quality alloys and a lot more. only then will the price be justified. and yeah, if possible, a 125kg machine so that it can rival the likes of the P180 and p200 in perf stakes

hahaha! 90K for a 150cc bike! Yamaha India really does have a deathwish! Even with all the goodies mentioned, at that price, I would expect a lot more than a 150cc 4 stroke single.

Whats wrong with these people ? Do they think Indian consumers lap up everything they wanna throw at them? Dissapointing.

yamaha ha ha india!
if they WANT to go bankrupt i think there are simpler ways of doing it!

havent they learnt anything from being in india for so long?? 150cc bike for 90k is not sale-able unless they manage to make it look like those fancy stickered REPSOL bikes....they look awesome. guys who just want good looks might go in for that...... but even thennnn 90k is HIGH!

Let them sell a few R1s and some MT-01s first. Then they can shut shop.

A pulsar 22O with almost all similar gizmos and 50 % more power for the same price makes more sense IMO..

Why does yamaha in India look completely lost ? Think they should focus more on new launches and stop talking to press for some time.

Do people still buy Yamaha in India?
From the article:
Yamaha is likely to price the upcoming bike around Rs 80,000-90,000 to give it a distinct identity.

They should launch a moped at 10L rupees, that will be even more distinct
Meanwhile looks like they are on a death wish

Yamaha India has constantly been losing sales on a monthly basis, registering a decline of 59.4% in May this year. During May, the company sold 13,649 bikes. During April-May, the company’s total sales plunged by 55.77% to 26,962 units.

Their A.S.S. also looks to be extinct

In a dealer satisfaction survey carried by TNS in the end-2006, Yamaha ranked second from the bottom, next to Kinetic.

  • Liquid cooling
  • 4 v per cylinder
  • monoshock with linkage
  • 2 wheel disk
  • full fairing
