Next-gen Royal Enfield Bullet 350 launch on August 5?

Last week, Royal Enfield released a video of the upcoming Hunter 350. The video featured a poster with the text “Bullet Meri Jaan”, which could be a hint to the next-gen Bullet 350.

It has been speculated that Royal Enfield could be planning to launch the new Bullet 350 this month, more specifically, on August 5.

The new Bullet 350 is expected to be based on the J-platform, which also underpins the Classic and Meteor 350. The bike will use the now familiar 349cc single-cylinder engine that makes 20 BHP and 27 Nm.

The updated Bullet 350 is also likely to get the updated instrument console equipped with Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation and upgraded switchgear.

So , Mr Sidharth Lal is now seriously considering modelling as an option .I feel it suits him well considering the rugged classic image of RE .

To me the Bullet is perfect how it is in terms of looks, all RE has to do to maintain sales of the Bullet 350 is to engineer the UCE Bullet 350 body parts onto the J-Series platform and swap in the updated instrument console from the Classic 350.

Since the upcoming Hunter 350 is supposed to be the cheapest Royal Enfield on offer I wonder where this leaves the Bullet 350. Is it going to be positioned between the Hunter and Classic 350/Meteor 350 or will we see a Himalayan/Scram 411 situation where the two bikes (Bullet 350 and Hunter 350) are separated by just a few thousand rupees. The "Bullet" name has the prestige of being the oldest name in motorcycling and being a good seller for the company with the bike consistently selling between 6500-8000 units a month so I don't think they're gonna sideline the Bullet for a new nameplate like the Hunter 350.

Bullet350 may not be the cheapest anymore due to all metal body. Hunter 350 seem to have lot of plastic to cut costs. Also the new J platform means they need to have electric start so the only thing they can cut corners is rear drum and single channel ABS and narrow profile tyres perhaps

So expecting Bullet350 to be priced more like base classic 350 and for the purists who still love the Bullet350 design(other reason they bought was for the cheaper price)

If Royal Enfield offers a Bullet 350 with dual channel ABS for around the same price as the single channel Classic 350 models then a lot of people (including me) would gravitate towards that.

If the leaked Hunter 350 specs are correct then it means that a Dual Channel Bullet 350 is on the cards as the Hunter 350 Metro (the upper variant of the Hunter 350) gets dual discs and dual channel ABS as well as bigger tyres. The Hunter 350 Retro/Drum has spoked rims with 100/80/R17 and 120/80/R17 tyres and the Hunter 350 Metro/Disc gets alloy rims with 110/70/R17 and 140/70/R17 tyres
