Re: Ola S1 Air unveiled with starting price of Rs 79,999

There's a general perception that no institutions give free petrol/diesel for students and any power source, however clean it might be, has some elements of pollution associated with it.

I do find the idea of educational institutions giving some charging source for EVs at a nominal rate, if they are producing it on solar energy a very noble proposition. It's just like many institutions giving laptop to students for "free".

Also, it would help a section of society itself shift to ev. When millions of dollars are spent on importing crude oil alone, it makes a huge huge sense, if any institution or work place or mall has an infrastructure for charging of EVs. Sooner or later, this trend will catch up.

Re: Ola S1 Air unveiled with starting price of Rs 79,999

I had booked S1 on Dec 16 paying full amount with promised delivery within 2 weeks….it’s been close to 2 months now with no update or support for customer care team…. Delivery date gets pushed …
Has anyone else got similar experience and is this the trend?

Looks like Ola heard you and here’s the new line up now. Sort of meets every customer’s requirement.
A 4kWh equipped EV at~1.2L On-Road is quite the deal considering there isn’t anything at that price with that sort of range.
I personally don’t see any use for the 2kWh S1 with all that power can barely go 30Km. At 1.1 Lakh on road it makes no sense to me. But I am glad to see a whole menu of EVs for choosing.

I think the S1 Air is a version that has some of the quirkiness ironed out. I really think this is more practical with flat legboard and normal suspensions. The sweet pricing is cherry on the cake.

Re: Ola S1 Air unveiled with starting price of Rs 79,999

I had booked the 84K(2 KW) one almost a year back. Got a call from them saying that won't be made for another 3-6 months and can only buy 3KW which they've increased the price to 1,09 lakhs (only till 31st July, the price will further increase by 10K after that).

i am thinking of just cancelling it altogether, EVs have gotten VERY expensive after the subsidy was cut.
