Gah. Deliveries begin in 2024 March. What am I supposed to do with my remaining holidays this year now Aprilia. I hope they are reasonably reliable considering they have deliberately delayed it instead of rushing it out for this holiday season.

Good pricing, considering the closest competitor is probably the Ninja 400 at a price of 5.19L |
Probably the reason they are currently offering a 35k discount. Lets see if that continues beyond 2024.
That aside waiting for a team-bhp review soon & a side by side with the Ninja & the R3 (price ?)
The 43.5 nm of torque is delicious to say the least ! This will definitely be my next bike when Aprilia sets up proper after sales.

While I was quite happy with the price, this was the very next qualm I had :coldsweat. I found out from a friend in Delhi that the service technicians are yet to get training to handle this. So as you say, hopefully, these three months are utilized in creating the proper infrastructure to support the product post-launch.

Sounds exactly like a slightly mellowed-down 660 and has that parallel twin induction whistle as well. Me likey!
This launch definitely hasn’t done that bike justice, at least going by its specs and the brand! A 450 twin from Aprilia at this price seems downright fantastic. What a plethora of excellent options to choose from for Indian bikers these days. Now if only Honda would come to the party in the 400-500 segment, it would be great.
I believe its on the higher side. ₹3.75L was a walk into a showroom and book for me.
At ₹4.10L, and deliveries after march, I am lukewarm to it.
I will still take a test ride when available at bangalore showrooms. Taxes are even higher( ktaka govt added 5% surcharge cess). I guarantee you a prospective customer will pay 10-15K in BS charges.
BHPians, please document the quotes you receive from showrooms. Lets see if we can pressure the aprillia india management to publish on road prices on their socials like triumph.

Not gonna lie mate, sounds more interceptor than RS660. It seems to be missing that bark that RS660 has. Does anyone have a link to an official recording like the ones you see on Ducati, Triumph, BMW websites. I cannot find that on Aprilia's website.

Wouldn't want to judge the sound based on a video mate, bass doesn't transfer well over iPhone footage.
Nice!!! Now we will definitely see Ninja 400 getting bigger discount than current 35k odd. At 5.2L ex-showroom its a solid 25% dearer currently. Yamaha will have to undercut this by a decent margin considering how barebones it is.

Rather surprised to hear that. I felt it had the same flat-ish growl like the 660 minus the strong bark unlike the Interceptor's slower and reverberated hollow tone. But like Nikhildrao says, a better-recorded footage with lesser background noise as well might give a more accurate perspective.
There's no official recording anywhere. Almost all Aprilia sites are sadly still in the "Stay Tuned" mode :disappointed
That's very aggressive pricing by Aprillia for the RS457. Definitely a good alternative to the overpriced Ninja 400. Slots in nicely above the Ninja 300 ex-showroom price of 3.43L. Needs to be seen if we can see any further discounts from the Ninja stable for the 400, to make it enticing us.
Interesting to see, the way Yamaha prices the R3. Considering it is going to be CBU, it will be difficult to make it less than the 457 and keep it around the Ninja 300 range.
Is it confirmed that deliveries will start March 2024? then they are keeping us waiting for a long time. Will definitely be visiting the showroom on the 15th.
Could be the perfect starter bike to take to the track, hone your skills on this before you take the big bikes. I think it's priced fantastic, it's Aprilia not Apache. I am so tempted to.put money on this but with three bikes in the stable it is tough to get one more. I hope Aprilia puts this huge announcement to delivery time to right use and have spares available day one.
This bike will gobble up RC390 and Ninja 400 if they can get the after sales right. R3 now looks like a two decade old bike, only way yamaha can sell it by pricing it at 3.49 lacs, that too won't get them many buyers. Let's wait and watch the reliability though, that is one place yamaha is probably one decade ahead of any italian brand.
Good to see so many good bikes launching at attractive pricing.

Kawasaki can't do much, with the Ninja 400 being a CBU. But then that's their own fault!
They should make it a CKD atleast if they want to continue selling it in the market.
Has the bike not been homologated yet? I mean from unveil to launch I still havent seen the mirrors and rear fender.
That said, I feel 3.99 lacs would have been really delicious. I don't have high hopes for the R3 launch as it is a CBU. Considering it is completely made in India, a slightly lower price would have been really good.

This is the best video I have seen so far. Use of earphones or good speakers recommended. It certainly sounds nice like a good 270 degree twin. Also has an intake growl when opening the throttle similar to the RS660. Can't expect the same sound signature because RS660 sounds quite unique being derived from the RSV4 motor.
