Looks like there is some truth to this, after all. Here's an article by Autocar India where a yet another spy shot of the Aprilia RS 440 has been captured.

However, this time there seems to be a 'companion' along with it. Neither Rushlane nor Autocar India commented on this other bike with the RS 440. It seems like it is the Tuareg to me. (Would appreciate it if any eagle eye could confirm or deny this)

Looks like a Moto guzzi. Think it's a new adventure bike based on the v100 mandello engine.

That Longitudinal V2 is typical of Moto Guzzis. It could probably be their new model.

Aprilia RS440 teased ahead of September 7 launch

Aprilia has released a teaser of its upcoming sports bike for the Indian market. The new middleweight model is likely to be the RS440. It will be launched on September 7, 2023.

The Aprilia RS440 has already been spotted testing in India. It is likely to borrow design cues from the RS660, featuring a similar fairing and dual headlamps. The RS440 could get a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, ride-by-wire and traction control.

The RS440 will use a 440cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It could deliver around 48 BHP and is expected to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike will be suspended by an upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The brake setup will consist of discs at both ends and dual-channel ABS.

The Aprilia RS440 will compete with the KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF-R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 400 in the Indian market.

This is going to be interesting.
Finally a product which will drive footfall again in the Aprilia showrooms.

I hope the R3 & this RS440 are priced under INR 5 lakh on-road.

Waiting eagerly to see this one, is there no spy shot / scoop which reveals the bike already ? :D
Can be a worthy contender to replace my Duke 390.

Seeing that 660 starts at around 13.5 lacs Ex-Shoroom, I don't see this priced anything less then 8.99 (At best), would be very tough sell specially seeing that ZX4R and ZX6R are both round the corner and will be priced better then this. You might be able to get a ZX6R at 8.99 price point if Kawasaki prices it right.

For this bike to work they will have to price well, just the brand name won't help it sell a 440cc bike.

Is there any live webcast link for the launch event?

This 440 is made in India. So just like the adventure and the GS which can and are sold way cheaper than in other markets.

But will Aprilia be ready to take the Triumph/HD route by pricing this agressively, they don't have the sales or service network to pull the volume game. They will porbably price it at premium and make more moey on per unit sold, that said if they end up pricing it near the upcoming R3, it might get them traction.

Let's see what they price it at, the price reveal should be done shortly.

No idea, but it will be stupid for anyone to pay a premium for something made right here in our backyard. Nobody really cares for their brand name and honestly every manufacturer India’s or elsewhere has finally realised that money is in selling affordable premium motorcycles in developing markets with a combined population of maybe 3-4 billion people.

Looks like the motorcycle is going to be named "RS 457"

And will we soon have a touareg 457 just like the platform sharing 660’s? And made in India? That is something very interesting and I have no doubt it will come in due time.

There is no clarity on where to watch the unveiling, or if there is a link, or at what time should prospective customers and enthusiasts tune in. The great unveil is so badly managed that the site has a 'Discover more' button that takes us to the instagram page of Aprilia India, and there is a link in their bio there that takes us back to the page which says 'Discover more' rl:
It is an endless loop !!

And thinking about how well TVS managed the Apache RTR 310 launch just yesterday, makes this seem even worse!

Finally found this, launch in another 10 mins, but no idea where to see.
