Bajaj Pulsar NS to get USD Forks & dual-channel ABS

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200 are set to receive a significant update soon. As per the teaser released by the company on Instagram, both bikes will get upside-down fork suspension and dual-channel ABS.

Bajaj offers upside-down forks on the NS 160 and NS 200 sold in the Brazilian market. The NS 160 gets 31 mm USD forks, while the NS 200 gets a 33 mm set.

The Pulsar NS 160 is powered by a 160.3cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 17 BHP and 14.6 Nm, paired with a 5-speed transmission, while the NS 200 uses the same 199.5cc unit from the KTM Duke 200. It packs 24 BHP and 19 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Apart from the upgraded suspension and ABS, Bajaj might also introduce new colour options for the NS 160 and NS 200. We can also expect a slight bump in prices.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS to get USD Forks & dual-channel ABS

A much awaited update, but still not a significant one. The NS series still has a very good fanbase, and since the new N & F series is not that popular, NS should get a proper update.

Apart from the USD forks and Dual ABS, the Brazilian model gets a gear position indicator. Here they should add the new infinity console form the new models as well as LED headlight and indicators. The 250s which are priced just above the NS200 get the LEDs, this should get them too.

This is still probably one of the most affordable liquid cooled bikes under 200/250cc.

Hi Venkatesh,

I think the below prices you have shared in the last quoted post is of old model:

Ex-Showroom Delhi Prices -
NS 160 - ₹ 1,34,675/-
NS 200 - ₹ 1,47,347/-

Because, the prices of both the new models are yet to be officially announced in their websites. The price is shown as "Coming Shortly".

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS to get USD Forks & dual-channel ABS

I can understand Bajaj's struggle to keep prices in check. They launched the N250 with a less advanced ,simple air cooled engine. But gave it modern features like all LEDs, better instrument cluster. Now we have the NS200 with liquid cooled engine, 6 speed gear box, USD forks but doesn't get the all LED treatment. Strange strategy from Bajaj!!!

Yes even I am wondering why they did so. With this update they seem to position the NS200 above the new 250s. Then why skip on the new console and LED lights? Still the NS200 is one of the very few bikes under 2 Lac with a liquid cooled engine and a 6-speed gearbox.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar NS to get USD Forks & dual-channel ABS

Its good to see that Bajaj slowly come around to its senses, while backtracking on many of the puzzling pronouncements from last year. The Pulsar 250s are clearly sales disasters and this has obviously forced the strategists in Bajaj to rethink their (wildly?) ambitious plans.

The mildly updated NS200 and NS160 will probably help their dealers recover some lost sales figures. On paper, both bikes look to be rather sensible choices, even if the Pulsar brand lost its luster several years ago.

Right now, the Pulsar lineup has an eccentric mix of the past and what Bajaj imagined its future to be. What will the final / stable Pulsar lineup look like? That is the question on everyone's minds.
