Ather Energy is all set to launch three electric scooters on August 11. While details are still under wraps, one of the models is likely to be the 450S.



The Ather 450S is the brand's most affordable model that will be available at an introductory price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack that has a claimed range of 115 km on a single charge and a top speed of 90 km/h.

The other two models are likely to be updated versions of the 450X. The caption of the teaser does mention "new features", but doesn't reveal anything specific.

The teaser also talks about "more power, torque and range", which suggests that the new variants might offer a different battery and electric motor combination.

Ather Energy has launched three new electric scooters, including the much-awaited 450S and two variants of the 450X. The 450S is priced at Rs. 1,29,999, while the 450X costs Rs. 1,38,000 for the 2.9 kWh version and Rs. 1,44,921 for the 3.7 kWh version.



The 450S and 450X look identical in terms of their design. All three e-scooters get an LED headlamp integrated into a sporty-looking front fairing and a single-piece seat. While the 450S comes equipped with Ather's latest 7-inch DeepView Display, the 450X comes with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen.



The 450S is available with a 2.9 kWh battery that powers a 5.4 kW electric motor. It has a maximum range of 115 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. Ather claims the battery can be charged in 8 hours and 36 minutes.



The 450X is available with a 2.9 kWh battery powering a 6.4 kW motor. This combination has a range of 111 km. It can also be paired with a 3.7 kWh battery, offering 150 km range. It can be charged in 5 hours and 45 minutes.

The Pro Pack is available on all three models for an additional cost of Rs. 20,000. It gives 450S owners access to four riding modes: SmarEco, Eco, Ride and Sport. The 450X gets five riding modes: SmartEco, Eco, Ride, Sport and Warp. It also gets features like guide-me-home lights, coasting regen, navigation, two / theft notifications, ride stats, inter-city parking; among others.

The mid variant makes the most sense. 450X with the smaller battery. The 450S would have made sense if they had not slowed down the charging speed.
If you want the higher range the Ola S1 Pro makes more sense than the 3.7 KWH battery 450X.

He is my colleague and he has bought it for his college going son with riding of 20 kms a day. His was first 450S delivery in Bangalore. He did not want to spend more and so settled for 450S.

The Ather 450S now starts at just ₹1,09,999 (that's 20K off the previous price tag).
