Ather 450x maps workaround | Use Google Maps without subscribing to Connect

As Ather owners would know, the connect has been made a paid service. The only really useful feature according to me is the Google maps. It was not possible to access it or so I thought. Today I switched on the scooter & noticed it would come on 1/3rd of the screen & disappear after starting. I pressed the full screen for the maps & realised it would stay on. Traffic works as well. Maybe someone else can check to see if it happens with them as well.
