Made-in-India Yamaha Ray ZR 125 launched in Europe

Yamaha has launched the Ray ZR 125 in Europe. The scooter is manufactured in India and will be exported to markets in the old continent.

The EU-spec Ray ZR 125 looks identical to the one sold in India. It will be offered in two colour options: Matte Red and Midnight Black. In terms of features, the scooter gets a semi-digital instrument console, a combined braking system and a side-stand cut-off system.

Powering the Ray ZR 125 is the familiar 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This fuel-injected motor develops 8 BHP and 10.3 Nm and is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 is equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a disc and drum in the front and rear, respectively.

Strange, of all their other better offerings , why would Yamaha launch Ray ZR 125 in Europe?

Not wanting to sound biased, but I feel Yamaha could have rather introduced some other scooters from their global lineup.
