Bajaj testing new variant of the Pulsar; is it the P125?

A prototype of what appears to be a new variant of the Bajaj Pulsar has been spotted testing. Reports suggest that it could be powered by a 125cc engine.

The design of the Pulsar P125 looks similar to the 150cc version. The bike has dual LED tail lights and a single-piece grabrail. It could get a sporty fuel tank with tank shrouds, a split seat, and a rear tyre hugger.

The P125 is expected to be powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It will be equipped with a telescopic front fork and a mono-shock at the rear while braking power could be provided by a disc and drum combination.

The introduction of the Pulsar P125 would allow Bajaj to take on models like the Honda SP 125, TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Glamour in the 125cc commuter bike segment.

Re: Bajaj testing new variant of the Pulsar; is it the P125?

Oh dear, not another Pulsar! We already have a million variants of the Pulsar. Old 125, NS 125 and now this! Looks like Bajaj is hell bent on killing the brand Pulsar just like they did with the Discover!
Dear Mr.Bajaj, mark my words! It is almost a decade (8 years) since TVS Motors overtook you. With the kind of strategy you are having, you will never, ever beat them in sales in India. Even in terms of exports, TVS is catching up faster than Mr.Bajaj thought!
Instead of Pulsar, why not develop a new brand name like TVS did with Raider. Heck, name it Pulscover or Silencer but not Pulsar!

This is how you dilute a once very popular brand. There shouldn't have been a Pulsar 125 in the first place, but we already have the 125 and NS125.

Also, the lineup is getting very large. They just launched the N150, even though there is a P150 and N160 already available. And now an even smaller new Pulsar. Currently there are 11 Pulsars!

Look at TVS, The raider is a huge success, selling about 30k units each month and they have Apache only as 160, 200 and 310.
Bajaj should stop launching so many Pulsars. They could just bring back the discover name and have the sub 160cc bikes under it.
