Ethanol fueled Motorycle from Royal Enfield Royal Enfield unveils Classic 350 Flex Fuel motorcycle
Classic 350 with a flex-fuel blend was unveiled yesterday. It has been showcased in green and red paint scheme. It is expected to be launched in year 2025.
Classic 350 is the most successful/profitable motorcycle model of Royal Enfield and it has been gifted with this flex-fuel version as the future of 'responsible' mobility. The 'not-very-hybrid' motorcycle was unveiled at the ongoing 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo.
Flex Fuel Classic 350 will run with a blend of petrol and ethanol. The exact percentage of ethanol blending has not yet been revealed. We would know whenever the paperwork is submitted / approved by any motor/traffic authority/ministry.
As of now in India, most petrol pumps throughout the nation include 10 per cent ethanol blend in their petrol tanks. The government plans to take the ethanol blend to 25% by 2025.
In USA, there is strong opposition to ethanol with claims that it damages older ICE engines. Refer MRF.org (Motorcycle Riders Foundation website). |
