Re: The Paradox of choice for The Indian Biker

Competition is always better, auto companies who enjoyed monopoly over the years, have always taken the customer for granted. 15-20 years ago, manufacturers provided what they wanted, today they are providing what the market/customer is demanding. When I bought the R15 in 2012, the options were limited. This year when I got my self the Yezdi adventure, I test rode almost a dozen bikes. With more choices the chances of buyer making compromises is reduced, and he can buy what suits him the best.

Re: The Paradox of choice for The Indian Biker

Choices are always better. Yes honestly life back then was simple but it was as if you take what we give, no questions asked. We got attuned to saying "its OK adjust it". Now its more choices and more specializations from common commuter to race class, from highway cruisers to adventure tourers and so on.

Motorcycles are from different genres and different price brackets. You pick from what fits your bill or your character or even pick something that is totally new to you and explore, the choice is yours.

Nowadays youtube, bike reviews are plenty and there are difference in opinion for the same motorcycle, one says X motorcycle is the perfect one the other takes every opportunity to bash it. Which review you consider is left to you. End of the day your purchase and you live with it.

To me these are one of the best days for motorcycling. I wanted an adventure tourer and i have one. Not the perfect fit for me but I am learning with it to be a better rider.

Re: The Paradox of choice for The Indian Biker

Hero is still some time away from mastering the premium motorcycle segment. Their premium offerings are still WIP if you ask me. No motorcycle from Hero's premium stable is as compelling as say, a Triumph 400 product.

You cannot blindly pick a Hero premium vehicle, like you do when you want a Hero Splendor. You know the Splendor is best in class, but the same approach cannot be followed for Hero premium vehicles.

Re: The Paradox of choice for The Indian Biker

Such an interesting read. However the step child treatment given to premium scooters by all brands is disappointing, especially Yamaha (except Aerox) and Honda.
I've been using Aerox for a couple years now, but there are no options in 300 CC- 500 CC scooter segment, apart from Keeway, which left me disappointed and then the ridiculously priced BMW C400 GT.
I hope this changes.
