2 wheeler registration expired, need advice on re-registration with wrong name on RC Hello Team,
I have been fortunate to be part of our community and get some suggestions frequently from all of you. Here I am again in a dilemma where I do not know if I should re-register the vehicle and if yes, what should be my way of doing it.
My father bought me Apache RTR 160 in 2009 when I was doing my engineering. I was adamant about grey colour so I actually got the bike from a dealer which was close to my home town but far from my engineering college city. More about the purchase experience in some other thread but in August 2024, the registration of my bike expired. I have maintained the bike pretty well and have serviced it at TVS service center for first 10 years and then at nearby garage for last 5 years. Bike has been in mint condition except the speedometer which lost its rubber fitting and let some water inside which resulted in lack of display.
I wish to keep the bike but the problems are many.
I have to visit the RTO for re-registration which is in the same state as my current city and invest couple of days which I am ready to do but recently I have found that the bike was registered in my father's name and there is a spelling mistake in that. Aadhar name and RC name do not match.
Is there someone who has corrected some details on the RC after the expiry of it? I understand I should have checked this earlier but that is a mistake on my part.
Is RC correction allowed after expiry? If yes, what is the process? |
