Ok. But how to start off? Here is what see
1. Slot to 1st gear, pick up speed.
2. Hit the front brake hard & maintain straight line, so that the rear wheel lifts off the ground.
Are these the steps?

Yeah something like that. But as you know there is no "wax on wax off" for stunts.

1. Slot the first gear.
2. Get up to 20-25 kph or so.
3. Grip the tank hard with your knees.
4. Transfer your weight forward simultaneously applying the front brake hard progressively. (Being too aggressive will just lock the wheels)
5. Ensure that you try all this on a black top with no gravel or sand and other rubbish in sight.

A wider front footprint will help with the stoppie. Although some "experts" can do it with anything on two wheels (as the scooty guy so very bravely demonstrates)

LOL my post reads like one from another two wheeled forum I was on earlier. They had threads like "How to perform a stoppie/wheelie?". Deja Vu.

Nice pics! I didn't know that a stoppie could be done on a scooter 'successfully'.

My classmate in college tried it on his Kinetic. The fork broke, and the whole front unit went crashing on the road. It was hilarious, since my buddy had to push the bike to a garage, holding the front wheel in his hand.

I have seen the DIO go much higher than this. Digging for pics, hope i get more of the pics

As for practice,
1 - find a nice grippy piece of road
2 - hit 25-30km/h slot in neutral (in on bikes, just to take the mind off pullin the clutch)
3 - as you press the lever, push ur body weight forward too, and grip the tank with the thigh-knee area
4 - enjoy

i have seen my frenz pop stoppies on the LML CRD 100 with drum brakes from 40-45km/h , and on the Pulsar 180 from as high as 70km/h

Here is a pic of a stoppie on the Apache (just for reference)
