My Enfield Cafe Racer!! Project Complete and I'm back. (Back to stock - Pg 6)

Yes, you read it right. The Cafe Racer project is complete and I'm now back onto Team-BHP.

As you may know, the reason for buying the Royal Enfield was initially to make it into a classic British Motorcycle. But things took a turn when I saw pics of a few BSA Goldstar's and Enfield Clubman's and the result is now the Enfield Cafe Racer (ECR).

The project which started somewhere in mid-Dec 2006 got completed yesterday. Here are a few pics of the ECR. More detailed pics and timelines to be followed in further posts. Please feel free to post your comments on the same.

P.S : Mods, can you lock the Pictorial Progress: V12's Cafe Racer Project! Updated pics! topic. Thanks.

Looks damn good.
Lovely job there.

I'm a critic though, cant do without making one suggestion, to fuse the the seat and the cowl by adding foam? would look neat. & the cowls height to be the same as the tanks height, while the bike is standing on the tyres.
Example-not as much as its been done here but, to stuff the part under the cowl and the seat..

V12,lovely job, i still remember that day when i dropped by 4-5 years back to have a look at your lovely elim.
The bike is looking awesome,i loved the number plate font, shows the attention to detail, one mirror looks a bit odd,why not go in for bar end mirrors?
remove the reflectors from front fork pipe imho.

Wooooooooooooooooooow V12, the bike looks awesome. Well done and the posts by Gordon with the progress were fantastic.

Lots of time and effort and money has gone into the ECR project and the results are fantastic

Is the bike a single seater now?

Hey Gordon, this is one amazing job that you have completed... really impressed... i have been following it allover theplace on all the possible Fourms where you post... it turned out to be reall good... now the only thing that you might like to improve on is the Tool boxes get the Covers cromed and get new stickering done...

hey v12

that is one absolutely gorgeous looking ride. i was following the progress (albeit off and on) and went from being envious to jealous to just being resigned!!!

from one bullet nut to another - "may she ride with you long, far, sweet and most importantly - forever"

Nice bike V12 a very good effort. The Custom front mudguard and the cowl and the handle bar all look the part.

I couldn't help but notice few things and it's been nagging me.

1) The front tyre does not match the rear tyre. Put a similar patter tyre in the rear.

2) The rear mudguard stays continue down even after the mudguard has ended. Can't you get it trimmed a bit? Or it's even possible to remove the entire rear mudguard stay assembly and install a stealth Thunderbird one which will not show up and it'll look like the red Cafe racer pic.

3) I agree with arpandiv the reflectors on the fork leg if removed would look better.

These are just my thoughts. You have a nice bike there

Hawk's eye Sankar.

Can something be done about the rear indicators too?

Its like a guy with helmet, 2 orange eyes , red nose. Star wars effect I guess.

Why only left side rear view?
