Hmm... not much into offroading mate, but have been to few places but no photos. When we did on our recent Kalhatty adventure there wasn't any camera to capture the trail! Redfire took some pics in his N95 and the Bangy boys have some. (I didn't carry one as it was raining)

Nice thread and here are some snaps of our trip to Leh. Crossing the stream was the toughest as there were huge boulders underwater (freezing water!) and it was extremely difficult to cross.

The second-last sap is when we got stuck in a landslide - literally. The bikes were upright without the stand and it took us about 4 hours to extract it - even though the mud was less than a foot deep.

Who said RX135 can't make it? People have been to Leh on RXes and Shoguns. It's all in the head!

Hi ravi,

You have some serious apetite for off road trail riding!! I always wished india had bikes like BMW f650 that has long travel suspensions to take on anything. This is one segment that isnt addressed in india at at all inspite of its bad roads

Waiting for such bike till then....

Well a german/european bike is going to have a silly price. There are a lot of fine jap dual sports that give great gas mileage. Like the Honda CRF 230L, with 93 mpg, and an awesome engine. If HMSI decides to make it, it can do so at a great price as well, as opposed to someone like Kinetic/Mahindra importing the kits. I do not have much hopes of BMW manufacturing these bikes in India.
If I am hard pressed to consider a bike with bigger displacement I would consider the reliable KLR 650 at $5300 Vs BMW F650 at $8400.

Checkout my new favourite dirt bike that I wish HMSI would launch.

HMSI or HH has to only bring in the rolling frame and other ancillaries. The engine of CRF230L is already here in India
