Need advice on a cruiser!

A friend is looking to buy a cruiser. He is about 6'2", close to 100 kgs. He was leaning toward a superbike (no pun) but I think his bulk gets in the way! His budget is 10 lacs. Can anyone suggest options, esp in Bangy? He is talking to someone about a Boulevard but the price is too steep as of now.

I couldn't find too much info on cruisers (not as much as SBKs anyway) so any help will be appreciated!

Why doesn't your friend go for a new Hayabusa or ZX-14? Those are good bikes for bulky people. He can also look at a used Blackbird.

If he wants only cruisers then any cruiser would be good as even a 900 looks huge.

The MT-01 is not a cruiser. It comes under the "naked" or "standard" category.

Apologies. My knowledge of bikes is rather limited.

With a 10 lakh budget it would be pretty easy to find one. Look at a used AQUILA for the time being. It would be available for a lakh, has a twin cylinder engine with 30bhp on tap. Looks like its an excellent bike, and could act as a stop gap till your friend finds one of his choice

a used aquila would be more difficult to purchase than an Import.

at the cost of sounding stupid, isn't the MT-01 something called sports touring, which is cruising at high speeds ????

Personally I absolutely digg this bike, its wonderful.

Cheers,

Actually Ishaan is not completely wrong given the requirements (height & weight of rider) the MT01 will suit him besides its available officially

@Bluu: For is Cruising=Touring? Or what is the type exactly that you are looking for?

Even I would say that the MT-01 is perfect for your friend, even more so as you say that he's bulky. And its available through a dealership with insurance and everything.

The bike is air cooled so no issues with heating in stop and go traffic, the riding stance is really really comfy too. And its low compression ratio means you don't even have to worry about high octane fuel, it can easily drink fuel from any fuel bunks. Oh and don't forget that this bike's a torque monster, all 150 Nm of it.

The MT-01 might not come under the cruiser definition, but it sure is one of the best things money can buy you in India for Cruising/Touring/Street Riding.

No the bike is really "Air Cooled", i.e. there is no other LC unit for cooling!!!

Why is it really that hard to believe that a 1670cc bike is Air Cooled?
